Technical Start&Stop in stop-and-go traffic

Are you sure? That doesn't happen on my 500... following the lively debate I had previously with 306maxi I've been trying to limit the amount of time I'm using the clutch and am now finding myself taking the car out of gear and coasting to a stop at most junctions, and as I come to a stop the S&S activates and the car cuts out. I'm then able to apply the handbrake and take my foot off the brakes, and the car does not restart.. only does so when I put my foot down on the clutch again.

Agreed. Handbrake does not prompt a restart.

OMG I reversed into my parking spot this morning and the car said "Start & Stop unavailable"!!!!!!

I demand an explanation! I'm talking it back to the dealership and asking for a new courtesy car! I'm writing Andrew Humberstone a letter to express my disappointment, I'm then going to get a necromancer to raise Robert Bosch from the dead and tell him how crap his S&S system is.

So there! :p

The system has worked flawlessly over the weekend I've had the car and I would have absolutely no problems recommending anyone get a Bosch S&S equipped vehicle. That the Punto Evo has almost matched the economy figures of the 500 with a bigger engine and more weight to pull around says to me that S&S is worthwhile and my drive to work only involves a few stops. In a city with lots of roundabouts, nose to tail traffic and traffic lights I think the Punto Evo would be doing better than my 500.
