Re: Yoda the green sx

i like it :D whats the plans for it ?
First off, new door to do away with that dent :yuck: . then as time and budget allow, tinted windows, lowered 40mm, metalic grey alloys (cant decide if it should have sporting alloys or 14's:confused:). colour coded all round with clear lights, full sony head unit and speaker set up (maybe with a small sub) and a nice exhaust to make it sound nicer(y), maybe evan a spoiler. it will pretty much end up looking like a subltly moded cinq sporting but in that green so unusual :slayer: . cant decide if i should play with the bumpers or not  .

I have a feeling that dent on your door could be pulled out quite easily. Looks a nice clean dent too.

Thanks

Re: Yoda the green sx

got him home this afternoon. found couple of little bits i need to do. speedo cable needs replacing (dash end) and wear mark on drivers seat that i somehow missed lol. and a load bang when you hit a bump (passenger side). but i found the cause of this. you'll prob never guess what? all in all im pleased, nice little car. i have the fail slip from mot man, all it needs is the left spring locating properly and a new headlight bulb to pass

plans are. First off, 2 new doors to do away with a couple of irratating dents. then as time and budget allow, tinted windows, lowered 40mm, maybe metalic grey alloys (cant decide if it should have sporting alloys or 14's). colour coded all round with clear lights, full sony head unit and speaker set up (maybe with a small sub) and a nice exhaust to make it sound nicer, maybe evan a spoiler. it will pretty much end up looking like a subltly moded cinq sporting but in that green so unusual. cant decide if i should play with the bumpers or not .

nope lol, spring IS located properly, the shock absorber top has been put together wrong. The large washer (under the large bolt) at the top is upside down, so instead of facing up, it faces down. the shock moves up and down because it has play, when you push the car down you can see about half an inch of thread UNDER the bolt

Re: Yoda the green sx

well, i decided today to get the front shocks off and see whats up with them:confused:, one side the top washer was upside down so i compressed the spring and undone it then as i flipped it i realized why it was done:bang:, the top mount on that side had perished so bad it was in 2 bits, so they flipped the washer to make it appear fine(n). then on the other side i noticed it looks like something is missing, there is to much thread showing up top and instead of having a gap between the mount and the top washer, it sits flush:cry:. so looks like i will be getting a set of front shocks and springs with good mounts from the breakers, then i can fit my new shocks to the new mounts and anything missing on mine, will be on the set i buy so i can use them as a referance and build them up PROPERLY (SAFELY):slayer:

Re: Yoda the green sx

ok, so im a guy:yum:. and here is the reason all you women should stop going on at us men to do things:D. got up this morning and thought "im gonna go shopping for my front shocks today" went out, did i come back with shocks? NO:bang: I came back with a whole car:slayer: paid deposit today, bring her home in next couple of days, this one is a bit of a banger (dented door and wing, noisy tappets, blowing exhaust) but it has 9 months mot and 4 months tax so the new plan is to use this one til mot runs out then swap out the front shocks and mot yoda(y). thus leaving me with a complete car for spares (the grey one):slayer:
here is the new one

Re: Yoda the green sx

oh yes lol, fruity as a nut cake me:D gonna put the interior out of yoda in the grey one as the interior in the grey one is way past it:(, then will be on the look out for cinq number 3 (sporting):slayer:, hoping to find an mot failure that i can strip the bits off for yoda. maybe evan swap the 0.9 engine for the 1.1. but i cant decide if i should use the grey one for spares when the mot runs out or turn her into a pickup/van:devil:. depends if she behaves herself. gonna end up with a small army of tiny fiats if im not carefull :D

i need a name for the grey one, but nothing sounds right. yoda was so easy to name, he is small and green just like my cinq lol

Re: Yoda the green sx

Wouldnt be a bad thing if you ended up with an army of fiats, id love one!
And i think bugs bunny would be a suitable name (because he is gray) :D

Re: Yoda the green sx

one at a time at min mate, i just came off a driving ban (18th dec) so my insurance has gone up now:cry:. for yoda i was quoted £678 fully comp compared to anything else i tried to insure that was stinking cheap. was quoted £1400 on a 1.3 SKODA and £1295 for an old shape punto:bang:

yoda is the REAL Project, got plans for him. but if the grey one (possibly bugs:slayer:) is reliable til the mot runs out i may not use him for parts.

I wanna turn yoda into a lightly modded sporting rep with an engine conversion (cant decide what to put in him)

May turn the other one into a van/pickup
