Risa, which will open next to the former Ronnie Scott's on June 28 and create over 100 new jobs, will have a capacity of 2,400 - making it one of the biggest clubs in the city.
It will contain six different bar and dance areas as well as Jongleurs, and promises to bring the very best of the UK and international comedy circuit to Birmingham.
Operations director Jez King said:
'It's a great new concept and we reckon the people of Birmingham are going to love it. Risa is stylish and fashionable but friendly, unpretentious and great fun.'
'With Jongleurs, it will provide the ultimate all-round night out. You can enjoy a quiet drink before the show, have a meal, be entertained by top-class stand-up comedians, then dance until the early hours in one of three club rooms or relax and lounge in one of our two chill-out bars.'
Risa has been designed to ensure there is an area to suit every mood or occasion, from the grand entrance hall with sweeping staircase, glass lift and suspended floating floor to a sophisticated downstairs cafè and dance bar, which is the perfect place to meet for lunch during the day and the ideal starting point for a night out on the town after work.
Upstairs, clubbers can choose to dance to the latest sounds; relax at sunken tables and enjoy a drink with friends; or cool down in a stylish chill-out bar illuminated solely by the lights from the drinks cabinets. There's also a lounge where private parties and VIPs can party or watch TV behind luxury-gated booths.
