Re: Hawk remote locking not working

Excellent,

So when you were doing your testing, were you touching the earth cable onto the metal bridge thats underneath the little flap on the connector? And this was causing the doors to lock?

And now when you touch the earth cable to the white cable at the white connector end, nothing happens?

If the above is the case, then its likely that the connector hasn't cut into the end of the white cable correctly. Therefore the next step would be to remove the connector (you can do this by using a pair of pliers to pull the metal bridge straight up and out of the connector)

Then manually connect the two cables.

Alan

Hi yes that exactly right, how do you mean connect the wires manually?

Thanks

Re: Hawk remote locking not working

Hi,

Strip about 10mm from the end of the white wire like this.....

Then strip about 10mm from the middle of the white/green wire like this....
IMG_1948_1_.JPG

If you dont have wire strippers that do this for you, then you can use a stanley knife or similar to carefully cut away a section of the insulation. (mind your fingers)

Then lay the two wires across each other like this....

And twist them together tightly like this....

The next step would then be to solder them once you have tested its working, and use some heat shrink tubing to insulate the bare connection... HOWEVER...

If you dont have access to a soldering iron etc, then you can tape it tightly with some insulation tape to a) prevent the bare wire making contact with anything it shouldn't, and b) prevent the connection coming apart.
