Hi all . what's the best setting for controls to prevent front windscreen misting up on cold mornings, I keep getting ice on the inside on these cold mornings. there's nothing damp or wet in the car. I have tried leaving settings on air flow & circulate overnight. Any tips appreciated , 500 1.3 diesel

I've worked out it can depend on where you live(I live next to the "warm" north sea compared to freezing temperature's so there's more moist air), however, never turn off the ac if fitted, when leaving the car turn down the heater whilst still running to help stop warm damp air filtering up from within the heating system after switch off, never run on recirculate unless absolutely necessary (and only if the car has AC) Worth a try but may not help much if at all, made worse by diesels taking longer to heat up.

Cut a leg off a pair of thick tights, opaque 80+ denier and fill it with cat litter crystals, not the dusty stuff, something like Felight super absorbant crystals, and pop that on the dashboard at night. You could put one on the rear parcel shelf too. I've got a couple in both of our cars and never have any misting issues. They really do act as great dehumidifiers.
