Ok so the the wash jets have stoped working on a 2001 stilo 1.6. I have had the pump off the bottle and it is working ok with power from the battery. could the problem be with the indicator/wiper stalk? and is there anyway of finding out that this is the problem before replaceing the stalk?

Thanks Rich

You haven't said whether the pump is working when you operate the switch. It could be just the jets and piping blocked (frozen?).

Assuming the pump doesn't work when operating the switch (with ignition on), have you checked for power and earth at the pump wiring connector when operating the switch?

The same pump is used for front and rear washers and works by reversing the polarity of its power supply. When switched to front washers, +ve and -ve will be one way or the wiring connector, and when switched to rear washers, it will be the opposite way on the two wires.

On the wiring diagram below, H15 is the stalk switch, N22 is the pump.

Sorry getting no power to the pump when using the switch
Thanks Rich

Assuming fuse F43 in the dasboard fuse box is OK, check that you have power to pin 11 of connector A on the stalk switch with ignition switched on.

If yes.... check that you have power to either pin 10 or 12 of connector A on the stalk switch with ignition switched on, and operating either the front or rear washer switch.

Ok so it turned out to be the wiper stalk. A little bit of plastic had broke off inside. cost £25 for indicator/wiper stalk from scrapyard.
Thanks for the help
