Hi, this is my first post, although I’ve had my 1985 Pininfarina Spider Azzura for over 20 years (had to sell it and and then bought it back in that time as well).

The metal bracket inside my left hand door mirror broke and can’t be fixed, so I bought a replacement from Spiderpoint in Germany. My local garage (who are normally very good with classic cars, tells me that it won’t fit, as the diameter of the part at the end of the three cables that adjust the mirror position is too wide.

Here's a website with images of the broken and new mirrors. I tried to post it, but can't until I have five posts. With apologies to the moderators, the website is lewisohn.online no gap / no gap spidermirror

I also can’t see a way of fixing the new mirror to the window of the car. The old one was fixed via the bit that broke off. The new one has a flat metal plate with three holes, but it’s not clear how it can be safely attached to the plastic assembly on the door window (image 9).

If anyone has done this replacement and has some advice, I’d be very grateful.

Many thanks in advance.
