Just got home after two weeks in Leeds awaiting the birth of Grandchild #7 , a boy named Louie.
We drove there in our 2015 Panda Pop at a leisurely speed, but did the return trip at the "appropriate" speed limit. Overall the consumption surprised me at 57.3mpg.
Since we bought it the average has been 61.5mpg. Fantastic.

Just finished putting together a bicycle for my 7y/o boy. It's a basic Halfords with 24" wheels but needed new handlebars and the plastic brakes were rubbish. Swapped the cheap Vee brakes for some nice alloy ones off an old kids bike. Swapped the handlebars and fitted thumb shifters that used to be on my mountain bike. He struggles with the grip shift. New cables all round and it's all done. £15 for the bike plus £10 for handle bar grips, but at least they have polyprop end plugs.

Found a lovely Giant bike for 9y/o daughter so she will be happy. Though I can see her wanting similar gear shifters.

A tiny, tiny, tiny part of me regrets getting rid of it. Because I know it'll run forever and give me a lot less of a headache than the DS in the long run. But I still think I am doing the right thing in indulging in a little bit of luxury for the money.

Enjoy your new DS3! I grew up with old Citroens and because of / despite that I still have a soft spot for them. That said, the DS3 is the only one of their current range I'd want to drive. It's a nice machine. In fact it's not officially a Citroen, is it?

Maybe we'll see you with an ePanda one day!;)

Daughter in law, granddaughter (7 years old) and grandson (10 months old) are all staying with us whilst their house extension is completed - my son is staying in their house, for security, living off microwaved meals and sleeping in a sleeping bag in the hall - rather him than me!

My granddaughter is an early riser and I actually quite like being up and about early too, so this morning we are both sitting in the sitting room, around 6.30, me sipping a cup of tea and looking out the window at my front garden, whilst she watches "A for Adley" via my smart TV I'm amazed at what she can do with the "smart" function. There's stuff on there I never knew it could do!

"A for Adley" is not really my thing so I was not looking in the direction of the TV (which is stacked with my AV setup. Amp and centre speaker under the screen with Sat box, VHS tape player and Blu ray on top) but out the front window - TV is to the left of the window - when she suddenly, and exitedly, shouts out "Grandad, look. Look at the wall" So I did and saw this:

The picture is of the shadow image produced by the sun - it was an absolutely glorious sunny morning - being reflected off two windows in the houses opposite, being cast on the wall to the side of the AV stack. The effect only lasted for minutes until the sun's movement destroyed it. The Robin is one of two Christmas decorations I missed putting away and just decided to leave where it is until next year.

The thing which surprised and amazed me most was that she then said "Don't you think it looks like a picture from somewhere like Korea or Japan" Where does my wee 7 year old grandaughter gain knowledge like that? I'm incredibly impressed! It does look like something from that part of the world though doesn't it?

In my roll as head washer upper and kitchen lackie I was washing my young grandson's drinking device (you couldn't really call it a bottle, but then it's not a cup either) and as I was washing the complex individual parts of the screw on top, prior to putting them in the sterilizer, it suddenly occurred to me that the whole assembly bears a not just passing resemblance to a lawnmower pulse pump type carburetor. Here it is disassembled, so you can see the highly flexible diaphragm and passageways:

And here it is all assembled and ready to work:

What do you think mowermender?

You could test it by filling it with petrol?
You might just be onto something there PB. I think the boy may turn out to be a bit of a petrol head, like his Granddad. We have to walk beside a main road for a few hundred yards on our way to the play park. He shows little interest in general traffic and shows no fear of even the biggest trucks passing within feet of us on the pavement, but if a motor cycle goes by he's right on it, sitting up straight in the pram and watching it go past until it's out of sight! Maybe when he's older the whisky will prove a greater attraction though?

Son has finally dropped off...been attempting to put him down for a nap since 1130 as we have a place booked at 1430.

He's picked a nice spot to drop off, I've 4g and nice warm bench that's been in the sun all day beside a quiet forest road.

Could walk home given it's about 20 mins away but lovely spot to browse autotrader, sun bathe and watch butterflies.
