I must admit, what does genuinely sadden me is that women just don't realise there's nothing more beautiful than a natural looking girl.
I do have a beard. Luxuriant not a word I'd ever considered. I'll ask around.

On another thread we (with StevenRB45) were wondering how they would carry out the acceleration part of the new MOT test - this would be a perfect solution (senza acrobats and commentary).

Awesome weekend! Spent time with family. Saturday managed to get the Stilo bonnet closing properly. Also established why the handbrake wasn't working (snapped cable on one side). Cut down some trees which have been a pain since the day they were planted 30+ years ago.
The 500C passed it's MOT, no advisories, this morning
Went for a ride on the 650 Dakar, sunny but cold on nice dry roads
Bought some Halvarssons leather jeans, got £50 knocked off
Swinton have just discontinued their classic bike policy so insured the little Suzuki with Hagerty's, £22 cheaper than Swinton
Smiles all round.

After about 14 months of having a phone with a touchscreen which, more often that not, took 5 seconds to recognise a touch, I've finally ordered a new phone! It's gonna be so nice not having to spend 5-10 mins composing messages, or fighting with it for 30 secs trying to actually launch an app and not drag the icon around.
Public transport..
Now my car costs about 55p a mile to run..factoring in all costs..so that's including servicing and buying it and tax plus insuring it and petrol. For that I have a device at my disposal that can go anywhere at any time.
Except of course when I'm on the drink so tonight I'm on the bus..so the 9 mile trip to town that takes about 12-15 minutes in the car..that'll be 55 minutes, and it's once an hour on a weekend, so I have the choice of really early or really late...and the kicker it costs 5 quid one way..so that'll be 55p a mile then. I wonder why the bus service is dying..

The last time I used public transport was to go to Leeds to get a board game. It would've been cheaper to drive but:
- Leeds is awful to drive in unless you live there;
- Parking would've cost almost as much as the petrol needed, making the train the cheaper option!
More people would use public transport if it was cheaper than driving, but it's not, so they don't.
I've actually used public transport in York and Leeds and to me it was luxury..especially the park and ride services in York is far less annoying and far cheaper than parking in town.
The issue round here is that they took off 3 buses and replaced it with one that goes to the same places...so it would make a nice tour bus but if you have to get any where it's rubbish.

Had to spend the day in hospital in Oxford yesterday. Angiogram, so one arm very sore, so not allowed to drive home.
Went in on the bus. 20 miles to centre of Oxford, around 40 minutes, so only a little longer than by car. Then wait for another bus, about 5 minutes, and was at the hospital about 15 minutes after that.
£7 for an unlimited travel day ticket.
All gone well so far.
Journey home, not so clever.
Released from hospital just in time to see bus leave. Next bus 40 minutes (longer delays at 7:30pm). Taxi service said 30 minute wait, so I stuck with the bus. (hindsight, should have got the taxi)
Bus arrived at bus station just in time to see my bus home pull out. Next one, an hour away.
So I grabbed a taxi. A '14 reg Prius. Warm, comfortable in the back, and quicker than the bus. Due to time of day, and his long return journey earning nothing, so a surcharge, £60. Worth every penny for the lack of delay and warm comfortable journey. That is what money is for.
And, the hospital declared me still alive! So all good. (For me anyway)

Public transport is abysmal in Northern Ireland. Not only does it cost me nearly £5 for a single fare of 5.5 miles into the city.. but the busses have a tendency to not stop at my rural stop.... But hey, we have a bus service. What we don’t have is a government... I often wonder what the rest of the UK must think about us! Lol

Phew! I was worried he'd receipty deceased.
I've often thought that the best government is one that changes little. One that tries to change lots will make a mess of most of it. So not having one at all might be a good thing. The civil service will continue running things, no laws will change, taxes will remain as they are.
Politics not really my thing, so this might be all rubbish. I await tirades.
At last, working on brother's 1995 Discovery, ABS relay and diagnostic socket located, terminals bridged, flashing light codes read, problem identified. Panic over, a £25 speed sensor on its way, should make everything well again. MOT looms.
