My personal corrections "Im a "occasional" cyclist and I'm definitely "fat" enough to be on the road.Im a cyclist and I'm definitely not fit enough to be on the road.
Just remembered. Yesterday morning, noises outside. A recovery truck collecting a 24 plate Nissan Qashqai 'E power'. Not sure if it lives up the road, or just visits frequently.
What are the chances of a normal ICE Qashqai requiring recovery so early in its life? Close to zero, I'd expect. EVs may not be the future. Recovery truck was definitely pure diesel.
Although I have had many Renaults in the past, I am not been a fan of them more recently and that probably started with a customer's Laguna, which amongst other troubles for a top of the range car that he bought almost new from the Renault Dealership on a salesman saying it was a company directors car (it was, a hire company!) and to add insult I discovered it had been in a serious accident, something else omitted by the salesman. He had on going issues of it locking, one time it was at a tyre shop which caused it to spend several days there, another when he was handing the plastic key car to me for servicing and he mentioned "What ever you do, don't leave the key in the car!" as he said, with the key flat in my hand , the car locked it's self and as we looked at each other it then security double locked. He took it back to the dealer and they hit him for another £400 to "fix it" which it didn't, so he never bought another Renault again. This was just one of many reasons for me to avoid them.To be fair the Qashqai did have a rep as one of the least reliable family cars you could buy before they electrified it.
Epic quality control lead to a batches of cars going out with the wrong sized pistons at one point leading to catastrophic oil use due to the piston rings not sealing properly.
Away from that they always were electrically complex but engineered by Renault...and well we had a Renault era Micra and well some of its character included keyless entry that would lock you in or out depending on the day and an electric tailgate latch that opened at 70mph..
back in my days 60&70 worked for reno garage the reno 4L service the only way to get no1 plug out take the engine out it was were the gearbox was never had one also never had a ford worked for ford dist was told the spares dept was the only part that made money hence 24 fiats in my driving life (whoops also had a Etype 1939 morris 8 series E mowermenderAlthough I have had many Renaults in the past, I am not been a fan of them more recently and that probably started with a customer's Laguna, which amongst other troubles for a top of the range car that he bought almost new from the Renault Dealership on a salesman saying it was a company directors car (it was, a hire company!) and to add insult I discovered it had been in a serious accident, something else omitted by the salesman. Was the 24 plate X-Trail an EV, if it's internal combustion it says a lot for the quality of it if it's broken down when it's brand newStrangely just been on the A1 for a few hours, two break downs by the road. One older Insignia which had the look of a car that never gets looked after and a 24 plate X-trail.
When I was at school there were 2 chances for me to do the cycling proficiency & on both occasions my BMX was brokenMy personal corrections "Im a "occasional" cyclist and I'm definitely "fat" enough to be on the road."

This isn't done much on this side of the pond. There is a 'Life Cycling' cert available from the League of American Bicyclists of which I am a Life Member, though, I was a Life Member of the League of American Wheelman before the name changed and the organization changed direction. I was an 'Effective Cycling Instructor' in the old LAW days. It was an intensive course developed by a crabby old fart named John Forrester. A grouch, but knew his ****.My personal corrections "Im a "occasional" cyclist and I'm definitely "fat" enough to be on the road."
