I think it’s a random algorithm…I used to get the usual ‘***** enlargement’ ones then, all of a sudden, it changed to ‘breast augmentation’ 🤪
Sadly one of my ex/old customers is dying of cancer, at one point he was put on steroids which have the affect of breast issues, fortunately we share a similar sense of "gallows humour" in our pi** taking of each other;)

It was a nice day so cheeky run on my lunch as can fit a 5k in + a shower in my 45 min break.

Made the most of the last of the colour before it gets unremittingly grey.

Pootling into the office this morning (is there another way to describe driving a C3?).

Now because it's not a mahoosive off roader people tend to take a lend somewhat.

Anyway coming off the A1 there's a section where 2 lanes go to one coming off a roundabout. I positioned myself in the lane that doesn't end abruptly and just proceeded round.

Because I tend to drive defensively there was a gap to the car in front, to many commuters this presents a challenge/opportunity. So a Transit comes steaming round the the middle lane of the roundabout to try and slot into the gap ahead of me before his lane ends at the slip road and force his way in.

He did this.. unfortunately for him he was so busy looking left forcing his way in he missed the Qashqai also forcing his way past him. They touch mirrors and get very animated at eachother..

Of course, I just quietly pick my way around both and sail on listening to Terry Pratchett. I am extremely disappointed the Citroën camera picked this time to go on the Fritz as I would have liked it as something to watch when I feel sad, would have gone well with the Benny hill music.

Trundling home yesterday, (in the Fabia) a lens fell out of my prescription sunglasses. Luckily, not far from a lay-by. A screw has fallen out of the frame. So I carefully checked my clothing, and the seat, before climbing out. Then down beside the seat, no joy.
Glancing behind the seat, there on the floor was the LED pen torch, lost a few months ago. Working well, so helpful with the search for the screw. There's a win, found a lost torch.
Couldn't see the screw. Then thought to look inside the case, there's the little blighter. Another win. Replaced and tightened enough with the blade of a pocket knife, fully tightened when home.

It troubled me though, how did the torch get there? Last used, outside, when working on the Panda. No reason for it to be in the Fabia. Fabia has been hoovered at least twice since the torch was lost. A mystery, but nevertheless, a win.

I have a pair of glasses for reading and a different set for the computer, fortunately no issues for driving.
I got fed up with the screws falling out of the hinges that last time I fed a short piece of Stainless steel mig wire through the holes and crimped it together, jobs a "gud un". I am not to bothered cosmetically but would probably draw the line at glasses held together with sticking plaster.;)

I have been trying to locate source of water ingress to o/s/r foot well of my old Skoda Scout and re adjusted door as it has had slight knock in the past and damp appeared to be coming over the top of door, however on closer inspection after dropping edge of roof lining it was the sunroof drain for that side. the pipe was blocked with debris causing sunroof channels to over flow. I have been a bit shy of using the sunroof thinking if disturbed this time of the year and doesn't go back properly I will have the rest of the Winter to regret it, having experienced the hassle of Citroen Pluriel roof repairs in the past, fortunately this one seems much better behaved. So that is my smile for today.:)
Our Leon has a door card and a plastic water barrier, then it has a metal innder 'door card', These things have a rubber seal and all 4 have failed. My local garage resealed them with mastic, but a new seal would be more sensible. Mastic only worked for a few months. THe scount may follow the same solution. We have ongoing issues with water appearing inside and it was hard to see where from. I must get 4 seas and do this again. The big rpoblem is the need to replace all teh single use door trim clips that break on removal and they are about £2 each!

Water "ingress" is a problem for many makes, in the late 70s working at a Lada Dealership there was something like 40 pages of service bulletins specifically on that issue;), even Mazdas were not immune, whilst doing a PDI inspection on a new 929 Coupe I felt the drivers was heavy, it was full of water due to Waxoyl blocking the drains in the bottom of door. Ford Escort rear lamp foam seals used to poor water into the boot.
I thought the funniest one was the customer I mentioned in another thread, I found the cause of her front foot well wet and smelly was her "Show dogs" using it as their toilet.:):):)

Ford Escort rear lamp foam seals used to poor water into the boot.

Of course being Ford they were still using them in at least the 2000s.

I had hours of fun tracing why on an exes Ford KA when you pressed the brake a front right indicator came on.

This was traced to the rear lamp, were the seal had indeed failed and also the vaguely incredible "wire free" design had all the bulbs protruding out of one large circuit board (for want of a better term) in the cluster.

When you needed a bulb it energised a broad metal track into which the bulb was screwed. There was a small air gap between all the tracks to stop the whole lot energising.

Then add a little water to something like that...

Daughter had a Grande Punto with similar issues, now she has a Punto Evo that she is bringing around for me this morning re intermittent rear indicator failure. Hope the rain stops long enough.:(

Far be it from me to mention planned obsolescence but the light was not only designed in such a way a small amount of water would bridge circuits...with a seal that was both easy to damage and didn't weather well but the loom connection at the bottom was in the perfect position that any water on the board in the lamp got funnelled into it, cause a short and burn out the connector.

One of those moments where you have to release a small whistle of amazement at the absolute perfection of the poor design that it couldn't be unintentional.

Literally "it'll last the (1 year) warranty no bother..and it's cheap to make".

One 200 mile round trip later and I now have a set of original Punto GT wheels to go on the Punto Cabrio project, the tires are trash but the wheels were in surprisingly good condition with very little to no kerbing.

The guy I bought them off was another fiat Punto fan who is in the process of restoring a rather shabby looking Black GT, and in talking to him I managed to also aquire a new carpet for my car for just £10. I hope the mk1 3 door uses the same carpet as the cabrio, in any case it can’t be any worse than the carpet that is in the car

14" tyres.. That is old 😉
Biggest Wheel size they did on the Punto back then.

What's even more annoying is these days its an odd size so there are few options when it comes to buying tires, Either very cheap and dodgy unheard of Chinese brands or very expensive, not a lot in the middle.

Still better than a good friend of mine with an original Mini Cooper who struggles to get tires at all from any brand.

Tyres.. I KNOW.. 😏.
Pretty sure our Marea/panda was on Mk2 punto sporting alloys.. So 15"

@2002 that was becoming 'normal'
Sons 307 was on them..
My 1993 Mondeo, one of the first registered in the UK as the day it was sold was also the day it was launched. The wheel on that where the upgraded RS wheels that were expensive optional extras, 205/55/15 tires and in 2001 when I bought the car this was still a very odd size for anyone to buy and people were excited about 16 inch wheels and 17 inch wheels and tires were stupidly expensive.
