What's made you smile today?

In the last few months the Highland council has obviously some extra cash to use up. The single track roads and less used have been sprayed with ‘rice crispiest’ It takes a while before this covering settles down. Bad enough in a car, but all over the place on a bike.

Today was one of those days where I really felt I should be doing something useful, hard to explain, I’m very laid back but I’m just too lazy at the moment. When I get this feeling I tend to wash my cars. My daily sits at the side of the house in a lay-by type parking and gets all the crap off other vehicles going up and down our road.

OK, proper wash and wax time, took me hours, a good old hand wash, then a wax by hand. Was going to use the polisher but got carried away by hand, and of course couldn’t be arsed looking out the polisher….:D The wax obviously took the longest, I wasn’t counting, but I reckon 3/4 hours. Dodgy knee is now killing me:cry: Like a sad git, I take a peep at my hard work, spots of rain now are just bedding off…
Thorough cleaning is hard to me,it's very tiring:confused:

Also fiat 500 till

Made me think that the few with electric cars are probably feeling very smug right now, maybe rightly so. Until the electric runs out.

I couldn’t possibly comment, other than to say if the electric runs out, which is unlikely, then you lot still won’t be getting fuel ;)

Had a silly thought. The 'range anxiety' we are feeling as we look at our fuel gauge, is preparation for EV ownership.

Not at all, you don’t know when you’re next able to fill up, where as most EV owners do.

It’s a joy coming out fully refuelled every morning :D

Meeting my buds for another morning of biking, breakfast, and BS in about an hour. Possibly the last one until April as weather tends to turn snowy soon. I came up with a different route this month and it was a good thing, too. We had almost 3" of rain this week that has turned the off road section into a mosquito infested mud pit. Thirty years ago, I would have been the first one in it. Now, nope.:D

With age, comes wisdom. Wisdom comes from bad judgement.

Apparently this is the time of year I sell cars...

Came up on my Facebook memories..

The 2 pound restoration job I did on back corner of the wife's micra prior to sale in 2014.

Should probably do similar to the Mazda and polish some value back in...but if it looks nice I'll probably not want to get rid. Should at minimum give it a quick wash though, been stood for about 4 weeks and it's covered in atmospheric deposits and spiders.

Took my partner to collect some new hearing aids today. Hooray! She can now hear me talk normally, instead of mishearing me talk loudly.

Then on the way home, pulled into a supermarket car park. An Audi Q5 pulled in behind me, very clean, very new. Mum in the driving seat looked in horror at the Panda, while daughter in passenger seat pointed and smiled. More impressed by a 15yr old Panda, than Mum's new Audi SUV.

Car insurance renewal for the Coupe came today, slightly higher than last year. Well I thought, I’m just going to give them a phone and see what’s what. Result, lovely young woman telling me, just hold on a minute and I’ll see what I can do for you. £150 again and I was offered national break down cover for an extra £40..:) That’ll do for me.

Daughter told mum to buy a Tesla or an old Panda. Anything else is SOOO last century.

Have to be in Brackley for 8:30am tomorrow, so an early start. About 40 miles.
There again on Thursday, but a late session, starting 1pm instead.

Strangely the mileage allowance for the second day is 50p more. Is the country stretching? Or just flexing?

The PITA PA turned in her notice on Friday. Seems the new Project Director called her on Thursday and ripped her a new one about her less than stellar performance. Can’t be thin skinned in this business and survive.

OTOH, you do the job you were hired for has unexpected perks. I just made American Airlines Platinum Pro yesterday. It means I fly a hell of a lot but AA also takes care of me.

If they can get that for it...Good luck to them.

The top looks lovely to be fair, it's the underside that's scary.

The 3k profit should cover the manicat it's going to need within the warranty period...and the wheelbearing...and the new steering wheel to remedy the cancel button on the cruise only working 95% of the time. Otherwise known as just enough for it for it to occasionally scare you when someone pulls out on the motorway and the cruise doesn't cancel.

Oh and the new BCM/getting the old one taken apart to solve the intermittent interior lights (note only 2 of 3 are on). Oh and the occasionally leaky rear light seals..

Obviously it's an old car...perfection would be unrealistic but at 5k for a 10 year old car you'd hope they'd have a go! I imagine they'll have done nothing to be fair..these photos were taken one hour after I'd left it, all they've done is put tyre black on.

Tough competition in their 'family car' line.up though

A minimetro..or a London Cab

The Metro is £POA which probably goes some way to explaining why they're selling a car that if you go on autotrader and sort by cheapest is worth between 2700-3500 for 5k with those miles on it.

If you forego white...then there's a gunmetal one local with 15k less on it for 2700.
