Just use the opportunity to do any little jobs you'd not normally have the time for. Take the wheels off and have a good look at the brakes and condition of all the bushes, also the subframe and generally the condition of the underside. Its about the age now where it could start showing the first signs of rust.

I've had this punto nearly 2 years now and while initially I was using it all the time, as I bought it to do a 100 mile a day commute, I then changed base location at work and started taken the train so in that 2 years i've hardly done any miles, My wife doesn't really like it so doesn't drive it. If the weather is nice like today or I have to go to an important meeting or a long trip I tend to take the Golf (nice weather roof down)
So the little punto gets neglected.

I posted a video the other day on my youtube channel, showing the full sorry state its in, but hoping to improve on that in the next videos, hence cleaning it today.

Shortly before it had its MOT, I took it to get the tracking checked, and whilst they had it on their ramp, I had a look at the underneath. I had it waxoyled 3 years ago, and the steel is still absolutely solid, not even showing any signs of surface rust.

Cheers 18 year old Talisker is probably the nicest whisky I've had, also the only drink where I've ordered a pair of them and the barman has said "are you sure? that's gonna be 40 quid!".

Sign of a good whisky for me is could you drink it either neat or with a little water. None of this JD and Coke business.

Oops! Sorry Steven & Andy, looks like I wandered off early from a little whisky session developing there - went lone wolf!

I'll bet the 18 is something special, my bottle's 'only' a 10. Still very nice indeed.

I do like those west coast & western isles whiskies. The smokiness and peatiness might make them an acquired taste, but, well, it's good fun acquiring it!

If you get the opportunity definitely have one, will say it's not my usual tipple (at 80 quid a bottle you'd be mad to drink it regularly it was very much a special occasion..so special in fact we got a second round!).

9 years ago someone forgot to take the screen protector off the climate control in my punto, the only way I noticed is that some moisture had gotten behind it over winter when the car wasn’t being used.

The moisture left some weird marks but they easily cleaned off.

This just put an enormous grin on my face.

Back in December we renegotiated our broadband and also got a new router (Sky) installed. We had some compatibility issues (for instance, catch up tv on our Humax freesat box refused to work whereas it had been fine with the old router) and it took a visit from a Sky engineer to get it all going. It was some time before I realized that although I could look at the stuff on my NAS (WD MY CLOUD), run slide shows on the TV and play the music files back through my amp for instance, I could no longer click and drag new stuff from my laptop to the NAS. In fact the visual display of NAS files had changed too.

I've been half heartedly fiddling away with this for the last coupe of months and just today found a way to do it. Previously I was just going in from the "This PC" page via the "WD MY CLOUD" file icon. However although this lets me see and display the file content I can't copy anything new to the NAS this way. Now I find that if I go to "This PC" then scroll right down to the bottom of the left hand list - ignoring the choices, including the "WD MY CLOUD" in the main display, which was my usual way to get there, until I see the "WD MY CLOUD" right at the bottom and right click then "open" on this it takes me into the file lists which I would previously be able to access in the simpler way and I can now click and drag as before. I've no idea what has caused this but it has to be something to do with that new router. Just absolutely delighted I now have full functionality back and can copy all those Christmas family photos which are on the laptop hard drive to the NAS - which is my backup.

Wish I understood more about computers, I'd love to actually know what's gone on here.

Lovely sunny day up here & the village is practically deserted as usual, so took my daily to my garage well within walking distance but a few fast stops deglazing the discs. My Fiat Coupe is practically a new car & I've only managed to start her up a few times, so today I took the beastie for a wee run, my god did it feel good, deserted roads so all OK.

Back home with my wife I came over all emotional, combination of the present situation & taking my Coupe out the first time in ages. What a Jessie, have to laugh at myself......

Finally got a fully working android auto set up having only been tinkering since last January..

Obviously not been working on it none stop as it worked enough to do what I wanted.

Amuses me that now I've got it up and running 100%..I'm not using the car.
