I think the staff of Practical Performance Cars have different (narrower?) choice criteria than most Prius owners. I know which I'd rather meet on the road.

My sister-in-law loves her Prius, and is thrilled to average nearly as many mpg as my Panda. I've driven it, and another Prius. Don't think I'd choose one, unless I had a slow local commute with no "interesting" bits.

I think the staff of Practical Performance Cars have different (narrower?) choice criteria than most Prius owners.

Seem they have a very narrow minded band of what practical means and what performance is.

Find me another similar sized car that does better performance on the MPD side of things sitting at 90MPH on the motorway for example.....

Cost of filling the tank has dropped by 10 quid since September so despite new car being heavier on fuel it's working out cheaper to run...long may the price keep falling.

I'm enjoying £40 fill ups in the Prius, and getting 750 miles out of it with about only £2 of electricity pumped into it also between fills
