What's made you grumpy today?

I remember driving my mums Corsa Active 1.0 after passing my test.

Because dropping from 5th to 4th didn't cut it. Every hill was climbed in 3rd.

That was mostly because I didn't want an <insert car brand> logo imprinted in the bumper for going deadly slow as soon as the tarmac sloped up!

Now.. in the Panda I drop to 4th but it climbs to 60 and is willing to do more which is fast enough for me!

The mess after this! That's half the load.

Trust me, you never want to buy a car I've ever had as a rental even if it's just a few days. It's one thing to hit the rev limiter going up the gear box but it's amazing the extra engine breaking you get coming down an extra cog or two, in which case the rev limiter is pointless, and so are the teeth on the cogs in the gear box.

Hmmm, reminds me of a certain 13 plate 500 I had from Desira for 7 weeks when they attempted the fix the Bravo.

Came to me with around 400 miles on the clock from memory, went back with about 4k miles, and 3mm of tread on the front tyres. Used to handle surprisingly well going into roundabouts at around 50mph, and using start/stop as a form of launch control was a personal favourite.

Even better that it still averaged above 50mpg real world on brim to brim tank full's - gave me a new found respect for the humble 1.2 500!

Parked at work today, not in my usual office but parked in the gravel car park next door, car was completely spotless, one torrential downpour later and the super dry dust had been splattered up the car as far as the windows. Lots of vertical lines up the bodywork from the ground. Makes a pretty pattern but still annoying.

Some tit overtaking someone who was pulling out to overtake two horses. This was a country lane too, not a big wide road. If that had happened to me I would have lost it and beeped and then scared the horses and probably killed someone!

Found a 3.0tog duvet in Dunelm. Seemed a good idea.
It is wider than its label. Label says 135cm, actual is 137cm.
All our duvet covers are 132cm, and all our current duvets fit nicely.
New cover, also from Dunelm, labelled as 135cm wide, is also only 132cm, same as we've already got.
So why are these things labelled as a standard size, but the duvet is made bigger, and the cover smaller?
All gone back, small argument, full refund.

I can't see the problem, so someone was established in their manoeuvre and someone else then wanted to do the same, yet the one already doing this was the tit?!?

Reading it, I got someone was overtaking some horses, someone else decide to overtake the person that was overtaking the horses, so attempting to go 3 wide on a country road? Either that or the person behind the horses didn't start their overtake fast enough for the car behind them so just as they started to do so they pushed past.

I read it the same way

BT Again!
Ongoing problem with broadband dropping out. Often a pattern to the timings.
Got a text message at 13:57 advising that they were about to call me.
After almost exactly 3 hours, an identical text.
Half an hour later, still no call.

As a communications company, they don't seem very good at communicating.

Ah bt..

Been on the wrong end of this a few times myself. They use an Indian call centre for tech support who are truly terrible. I imagine you've been told to remove the front panel and connect your equipment directly to the test socket every time you phone...

No mate I did this the previous 8 times I rang to chase where you guys were..
