You could pretty much say that about any rag these days. Which is why I only use them to line my guinea pig enclosures!
The guinea pigs in my house, Duncan and Daphne, love using the Gloucestershire echo for their toilet needs.

The cats, Max
and Mini, positively enjoy defecating on the daily mail .

We get a load of FTs from our neighbour who works at a bank. They're bloody brilliant - a few sheets does a run, you can then use another before the grass-based bedding goes on. Protects the base really well.

Ooo the FT pink would really highlight their hair colour too. They are both patched white, dark brown , light brown with a hint of ginger.
Duncan will be 7years old in August and he is doing very well indeed.
Daphne is around 4 and getting a little bit plump.
Had to have Dolly put to sleep just over a week ago.
So remaining two on extra rations to get through difficult time.

Yes we have an issue with 'plumpness' - I've just bought a set of scales so I can keep a check on what we feed them. The dried food is very high in calories and I think they've been having too much of it! If there's one thing guinea-pigs seem to love it's food!

Gumtree.

Within thirty seconds of placing an advert on that site for my Alfa I got a call from a "Solicitor Company" about a collision I allegedly had three years ago and two calls from a Medical malpractice solicitors asking if I had been misdiagnosed or mistreated in the last ten years.

:bang:

Oh well. I didn't like my number anyway. Time for a new one again.

Squeak squeak squeak ...
* touches brakes *
Silence.

Squeaking comes back..
* touches brakes *
Silence once more.

Time for new brake pads for the front. replaced last august for £9.. not sure if that was considered cheap for front pads but for another year £9 sounds good.

Should I get more expensive ones or keep this brand? Decisions

May not be worn. As squeak goes when pedal pressed, squeak is more likely to be pads rubbing gently on disc. This is caused by build up of brake dust, or rust, or both, in the pad carriers. Get the pads out, clean the carriers up, make sure any rust on the pad edges is cleaned off, and refit.

Reminds me, mine is doing the same occasionally, on the list of jobs for the weekend. Thanks.

As above I'd check they are worn first, it seems a very short life for a set of pads.

If they are worn I'd change brands given my last set of fronts lasted 54k.

Ah I remember last year hitting the discs with a hammer and big crusts of rust falling off!

Hopefully it'll just be that.

A spray of brake cleaner too then?

Are the pads worn down or is it that one or more are sticking in the carriers?
Got the same sound on our Active Eco... another job for the weekend, I guess. Got some new pads (and discs) if needed but I reckon the carriers need another cleanup.
Bought the bits last year for mine but that was only grotty carriers too!

To clean the carriers, an old toothbrush and some brake cleaner, or a small wire brush. Don't spray the brake cleaner onto the pads, get them out first, and avoid it going directly at the caliper seals.
Tiny smear of copper grease, or cera-tec on the touching parts.
Edge of disc, if rusty can be scraped with screwdriver blade or similar.

Beware dust in the eyes, or up the nose.

That inevitable moment when buying for the wife's birthday where you bring all the things you've bought together and realise yes indeed, despite spending a decent amount of money because it's perfume and make up it looks like **** all.

As long as you let them go with you to pick it.. otherwise that hefty investment might seem even worse.

Saying that I'm not rich enough to have spent a lot in that area yet lol

There are certain rules to stick to, but eating or necklaces. Never rings or bracelets. Always get something in gold or silver with a precious or semi precious stone/stones, you'll never get in trouble ;)

Gucci do some very reasonably priced silver jewellery, so add a designer brand and you'll be in her good books all year.
