There are certain rules to stick to, but eating or necklaces. Never rings or bracelets. Always get something in gold or silver with a precious or semi precious stone/stones, you'll never get in trouble ;)

Gucci do some very reasonably priced silver jewellery, so add a designer brand and you'll be in her good books all year.

This is priceless man-to-man information that I hope will keep me out of trouble for many years lol Must get back to you around Christmas to see if it worked for me (y)

I am so glad my wife-as-of-yesterday isn't into any of that stuff, get her a geeky t-shirt, a blu-ray or an xbox game and she's set (y)

My wife is currently putting batteries in a finding dory snow globe that has a motor to blow the glitter about, and singing beyond the sea. She loves bioshock and Wonder Woman and is rather fond of a glittery stethoscope (she's a dr) so I have a whole host of options at Christmas and birthdays.

Not sure if this will keep you out of trouble, but might help you if you do get into trouble. Or if you're just a nice guy!

I get rings and bracelets, but never a necklace. She's got a Tiffany necklace and I can't compete with that.

If she likes simple/understated/classy jewellery, and you're on a bit of a budget, Pandora is a must. Pandora bracelets allow for you to keep adding new charms, and so on.

The real trick is to take her into a shop, let her browse and listen to what she says. Keep it stored somewhere for later. (y)

My Forum account has been suspended.
Apparently email notifications are being bounced, yet I am actually receiving them.
I requested more information from Ben But no reply. WTF?
The email account I use is working fine for all other sending and receiving.
The email provider has requested detail of the bounce message, so they can investigate. I have passed that request to ben, with no reply.

I can't fix this without further information. But apparently my input is not valued enough to bother with a reply, just let the account suspend!

Not happy.

LISTEN?! arrggghhhh Never. Lol

The beauty of instant messaging has helped a lot. A lot of links as 'hints' are sent I suppose. But I'd never attempt to pick an expensive bit of jewellery myself!

Last year was a £140 bloody Tiffany thing and I can't say I completely believe they can justify the cost of that for what it is but there you go :-(

..I had the clutch, gearbox seals, bearings and fluid all done for that!!!! Lol

Hope they sort that out swiftly.

I've flagged this backstage for you. (y)

I get bored of buying the same stuff year on year. Though never go too far off message.

Thankfully this year she's taken to obscene stationary..which she takes to university..apparently working for the NHS has fostered a healthy hatred of people.

It took an awful lot of scrolling to find one that contains no swearing.

One of my wife's friends a obstetrics and gynaecology registrar got a very similar card for the birth of her first baby.

Several of my friends who still work in the NHS and we get together from time to time are rather too fond of the C-word, usually loudly and when in a quite restaurant.

Did I miss the grump against photobucket?

If not then are other people getting emails to say they can't use it to host photos on websites anymore unless a small fortune is paid each year?

many a thread id going to be ruined by this if picture heavy....(n)

Lost my little LED worklight. Probably left here attached to either brother's Land Rover, or Focus. I don't suppose it is still attached, the magnet was only just adequate. Had to use a headtorch. Elastic a bit tight, but no lasting damage to my head.

Yeah, I saw this. 0/10 for professionalism on their part. I give it a year until they're down the pan completely.

Watching TV with my partner, when there was a loud bang and all the power went off.

Went outside to find the electric line on the ground and the post still smoking.

Not quite a clear blue sky, but certainly no thunder.

Dropped a socket the other day while working on my Citroen. No sign of it on the ground, nor in the engine bay, was a good socket :(

New AA car due today. Appointment made for 7am. Driver text yesterday says will arrive between 6:30-7:30! Arrived just before 6am, sits with engine running for 5 minutes. He then proceeds to walk around the old car, on my drive, coughing loudly. Myself and neighbours have windows open, very rude. He then sits back in the new car across the road and sits with the engine running for 7 minutes, potentially annoying more neighbours. Isn't that a traffic offence anyway? When I went out at 6:30, he declares that the car has a fault, the driver's mirror does not adjust vertically. Is that not a critical function on a learner car? I sent it away. The only good point is that its replacement may not be white, this would have been third in a row! Currently not a happy bunny.
