Why not send the ECU off tho benny?

Or is it because you need to be back on the road like yesturday?

Ziggy

i need the car to be back on the roads asap, otherwise i would of sent it straight away, and due to problems with my feet i struggle to walk and rely on my car:(

im sure you can understand that, is it easy to remove ignition barrel?

No need to keep your old key to start it with and the donor key for the ecu on the fob and it will start

Andy's thinking you've swapped the barrell already
Your thinking based on what he said you havent got to

You will need the ignition barrell off the donor so that you can just use the Donor cars Key lock set :)

No the coil round the lock sees the chip in the new / salvaged key... The imobiliser then stands down

is it easy to remove the barrel? i know its connected to wire ive seen that a few times when ive had the cowling off, does the barrel slide out? or is mounted with screws/bolts?

thanks

it slides out remove cowl, turn key to mar and there is a little button on the side that you push in as you pull the key barrel pops out.

what the ignition barrel, could of sworn i see a very thin black wire thats at the back of it, is that just a sensor then?

You're looking to make the job more complicated than you need to make it. Forget about wires and the ignition switch unit, they all stay the same and untouched, it's the lock barrel you're changing, which sits with the ignition switch unit (that the wires plug into and the immobiliser pickup sensor ring sits around) (y)
