i need the car to be back on the roads asap, otherwise i would of sent it straight away, and due to problems with my feet i struggle to walk and rely on my car
im sure you can understand that, is it easy to remove ignition barrel?

No need to keep your old key to start it with and the donor key for the ecu on the fob and it will start
so i dont need to switch the barrel? cause i thought i had to for the new key?

No the coil round the lock sees the chip in the new / salvaged key... The imobiliser then stands down
all i need to know is do i need to remove the current barrel or not?
cause surely if the current barrel is for current key it wont work on donor key???

you can keep your barrel but have to have both keys on keyring. or you can spend 5 minutes and swap barrels over
is it easy to remove the barrel? i know its connected to wire ive seen that a few times when ive had the cowling off, does the barrel slide out? or is mounted with screws/bolts?

it slides out remove cowl, turn key to mar and there is a little button on the side that you push in as you pull the key barrel pops out.
No shear nuts like the gp?
they hold the barrel holder/steering lock not the barrel

what the ignition barrel, could of sworn i see a very thin black wire thats at the back of it, is that just a sensor then?
You're looking to make the job more complicated than you need to make it. Forget about wires and the ignition switch unit, they all stay the same and untouched, it's the lock barrel you're changing, which sits with the ignition switch unit (that the wires plug into and the immobiliser pickup sensor ring sits around)
