probably where the confusion lies

technically - if it's in the wrong thread that makes it spam?

Is that thw one at the bottom by the bus stop? I hate Mucklow Hill before I passed if I had morning lectures i'd have to walk all the way down it to get to college (parent worked at the top) was extremely scary walking down it when icy.

Driving up it is fun though 2nd 4/5,000 rpm good times. The faces on the chavs as my panda flies past them :D

Cant you delay your pass plus another week?

nah by the B&Q island.

mucklow hill is always entertaining in the snow. especially when you were at leasowes and they canceled all the buses down there.

already boked my instructor for it now though. ill just use his skoda. te snow is melting now anyway so they might be open tomorrow and if im lucky i can collect the gp in the morning

i use my mac as a normal laptop, but also for photoshop and illustrator for my graphic design stuff... so it gets used a hell of alot... its a common fault and im gonna get me wellies on a brave the snow to get it sorted. the amount this thing has cost me i wouldnt expect it to break so easy... especially as they are made for design purposes so you'd expect them being used lots you;d think they would be better built :(

Kay, they should do it, the same happened to my girlfirends when it was 1 month out of warranty and they still did it for free anyway :)

I can imagine

Is that the one where they have all the cars for sale outside the little side road off on the island?

Let me know how good the job is in on your car when you get it back.

Another grump: This uni is the pants. Outside the shop and bookshop they haven't gritted, the slush has frozen overnight and made it an icerink. Nearly landed on my arse coming out of the bookshop earlier :(. The most walked place on the whole of uni and they aint put any grit down (n)

posts in wrong section are problematic especially when people tell them to do a double post in another part of the forum :(

you know if you come up the hill itself then you come to the roundabout by B7Q turn left there and immediately left again its in that little factory estate and its called Bodykraft. used them last time after my ma did exactly the same thing to the otherside of the gp (only bent the corner of the wheel arch and had down to bare metal though) but they repaired that and it looked like we had just driven it out of the showroom.

thats what makes me laugh like on the news this morning network rail have reopened a few of the stations in london but then havent gritted the steps outof the stations so everyones going on their arse. theyre only going to end up with a load of injury claims for brken wrists etc and for the effortit takes to grit t could be very costly for them.

yes i saw that... lol

Problem is if you grit the steps and someone slips your ultimately liable due to you (the company) accepting the risk and putting in Inadequate control methods to ensure the safety of your customers and staff

how ever if you don't grit you don't take responsibility and it heads towards the act of god excuse....

You see gritting the pathways these days is a can of worms or a hot potato that few are brave enough to handle and in dear old Leam (from which I hail) such moral dilemmas cause many a frilly knicker to be entwisted.

In the modern age it seems one (and by one I mean an individual or a corporation) can be successfully sued if one decides to grit an icy pavement but a passer-by still falls over upon it and splinters a rib or three on a frozen dog poo... whereas if you do nothing at all and they fall headlong into a storm drain and break their neck they can’t touch you for a single penny. You are not responsible.

Crazy but true.

And I have it on good authority that this bizarre state of affairs is just as applicable to home gritting / salting. If you grit your pathway and your friendly neighbourhood postman cracks open his knackers in a spectacular pratfall that sees a recorded delivery parcel inserted somewhere tight and moist he can sue your ass to kingdom come. But if you leave the pathway as nature intended and he still anally ingests your brown paper wrapped package from Holland well it’s just tough titty cos he can’t touch you for a rusty farthing.

What's made me grumpy - a courtesy car that can't even do 40mpg

the mac is booked in with the doctor at 20 past, so im sat in a cafe near the shop having a coffee and waiting to go back.

hopefully then ill find out whats going on, how long ill have to be away from my mac and more importantly what its going to cost me!!

ive seen over loads of forums that it's been done for free because its a manufaturers defect so ill throw that at them if they try and charge me!

Power cut killed the onboard network card on my computer

PC is not even 2 months old...

scamera van:mad:, no idea if i was speeding or not, all i know was that it was around 30 and my full attention was on the road, which was icy! only noticed the van when it was too late and a glance at the speedo suggests i should be ok, but slightly worried :(

Know what you mean. I always get like that, even when I know I wasn't speeding and I have been past a cam van.
