Power cut killed the onboard network card on my computer

PC is not even 2 months old...

It is quite common.

When everyone had 56k in the shop we would see hundreds of PC's with blown modems after thunderstorms.

We made a lot of money fitting and replacing plus lots of new regular customers.

well if you were worried about the road conditions then im sure you wouldnt be speeding

if i'm caught, i'm caught. the road was slushy so not too bad, and i had just come out of the national limit bit at a dizzy speed of 45mph, bit harder on the brake instead of braking gently and rolling off the rest of the speed and i'd probably have a clear mind now. Hopefully if i have been caught it'll be a speeding awareness course looking at the local scamera website. just kicking myself to be honest.

Yeh..went and bought a PCI network card in the end...from Morrisons of all places!

Only annoying thing is that Wake on Lan doesn't seem to work with my mobo other than with the built in nForce nic.

Oh no Is it badly damaged, given how big and heavy said range rover was?

its not too bad, but my front bumper is cracked probably beyond repair, and the bonnets raised and dented. i seem to have got off lightly, the noise of the bump and the weight of the range rover made me expect it too be alot worse. i drove the car today and it was okay, under the bonnet, theres no damage at all,its all cosmetic... apart from the headlight, i think an earths been disturbed, every bulb in the light flashes if you put the indicator on with the sidelights on

im more concerned with the bodyshop finding a new abarth bumper and how good the paint match will be

downer mate however sprint blue is an easy colour to match, you shouldnt have any worries.

On way to gym roads were clear except where someone who had hadn't used there cars yesterday and hadn't cleared snow off then braked at rounderbouts or turned on sliproads etc depositing and nice pile of snow which was then rolled into sheet ice by following cars, usually at exactly the point you didn't need it! Oh well kept me on my toes considering everywhere else was dry!
