would you class reporting driver swerving, driving on wrong side of road is a legitimate call to make? i have no clue on laws by the way only the ones i need to know such traffic laws and offences etc.

but as i said i never knew about exceptions for calling 999.

i guess its rare you'd see a driver do such thing, bu ive seen it on numerous occassions but never once go for the phone, because ive seen fatal accidents related to people using mobile phones, also see people daily using mobile phones while driving:bang:

I would and have used the phone in those circumstances.

:yeahthat:

They were seriously endangering the lives of others. I'd have called 999 (but I've hands free) and followed from a safe distance. I'm sure dash cam evidence in court would have gone down well also.

I've done the above before, followed a drink driver who was bouncing off the curb both sides of the road, giving the police a running commentary of where we are and what they were doing until the police got to us. I was however a passenger at the time as well over the limit myself and sister was driving after having picked me up on a heavy night out. As a result there was no dash cam footage as we were in her car :(

I am currently living in a large Winnebago motor home..... Ace you'd think....... Sadly not so, habitation batteries are cream crackered and don't hold charge for very long, I am on a campsite so I can't run engine or gene for long. This thing needs electric for everything, without power I have no running water, no lights, no heating and the fridge won't run...... Had my son for the weekend which would have been great with power etc..... But a bit of a nightmare without.

I need to shell out on two new batteries and probably be wise to swap a few internal bulbs to LED..... More expense I can't afford. :(

Friend of mine used to go all "Colin Fry" on them and invites the three of them in...when they say there's only 2, he talks about the spirit gentleman behind them lol

Had an Uncle who used to invite them in for a cuppa lol

I'm at the crossroads in life again. I Have a major decision to make in the form of a job opportunity.

It would involve spending 5-6 days a week away from my family working all over the world. However the salary in one year (inc offshore allowance & expenses etc) would equal to 4-5years what I'm earning now.

Some of you may remember my last attempt at such a bold move in 2008 which failed after a week and I ended up coming home. However that was a civil defence related job as a contractor in Afghanistan for months at a time. Decisions  :tempt:

was watching that Australia customs program the other day and they said Australia are having a massive recruitment drive looking to import 100,000 workers. not sure how old the show was though it was on pick tv. so might be time for you to look at moving there again.

Personally, I would go for it: (1) because I had a similar offer, which I refused, which would have involved me working in Sweden for large chunks of time -- and I turned it down -- which I then regretted; and (2) because it sounds like the opportunity of a lifetime.

One proviso... -- I then took a job that tripled my salary; but involved not only a lot of international travel (which isn't nearly as glamorous as it sounds...), but 80-hour weeks back in Blighty. The lack of quality family time ended up in divorce... -- amicable: but not good for our son. If you think this opportunity would negatively affect your nearest and dearest, then... etc., etc., etc..

Good luck... -- whatever you decide.... (y)

Well this job would mean moving darn sarth to Southampton and flying around the world installing specialised kit. The money I make could be used to emigrate :chin: :D.

The down sides I can see are: 1) Family and 2) I'd have to give up my current job which I've worked hard in over 4 years to make it to mid management level and is secure and 9-5!

How well do you think you and your family will cope with long periods of separation?

What's the work/leave ratio like?

Is the extra money enough to compensate for the separation etc?

Wonder if we could send them some of our European guests that work at every single garage/clothes shop/Mac D's etc :chin:
