7 months ago I bought my Bravo HGT. It's a stunning car and drive but I'm starting to wonder wether I should keep it for much longer. I keep thinking about the money I'm going to lose with depreciation and the dreaded cambelt change!! I've been looking at Punto GT's and Peugeot 106/306 GTI's. Should I just face facts and realise that all cars eat money and keep my HGT, OR sell it while I can still recover most of the money I paid for it?

What Would You Do?

I have had my HGT for 4+ years. Like you, I think it's a good car. Had I known that the cam-belt change was an engine-out job I would not have bought it! The car is now worth about 4K so changing it for something comparable will cost just a few thousand! So, car goes in next week for the dreaded cam-belt job. Then I'll keep for a while longer. My advice in all honesty is change it A.S.A.P.

I have just traded in my bravo for a 1.6 polo. It was a 1996 P reg 1.8 hlx with 70K miles. I got £3100 trade in! against the polo which was £3995 with 55K miles. Get rid of it mate because fiat are fast becoming the worst car maker around (J.D Power, auto express etc) and I think people are begining to realise that which is making them pretty hard to sell. Good luck
