General What to buy when the Merc goes?

Well the guy came to look at the car and complained that there were little marks here and there. When I mentioned the car was 17 years old and had covered 133,000 miles in it's life he still insisted on compairing it with his mates (who has 2 of them ) both of which "according to him" that have 43k and 52k on them and that he never takes out and are kept in a heated garage.

Needless to say I calmly and patiently (thanks to the drugs) and politely suggested since his mate has 2 he should talk his mate into selling him one of his then he would have a car that's in the same condition as his mates low mileage, never used, kept in a heated garage, mint car, instead of even bothering with my 133000 mile, used every day, kept outside in all weathers, car.

Latest:- The above guy phoned me today to say that he really liked the car and that it was worth every penny I was looking for it. "However" he couldn't buy it until his cousin came home New Zealand on Saturday and was there any chance that I might not sell it until then and did I think it will sell on ebay tonight and if I thought it was going to go tonight would I be able to hold off.

So after I got up off the floor from laughing I told him I would like to think it'll be away before Saturday. He went "oh", I'll see if I can get my cousin again.

5 emails now that the auction is over from people wanting to know what i want for it. Iv'e told them all to make me an offer as it was in the auction that way.

Tony I assume by "They are expecting you to have come to the realisation that it'll never get sold and snap it up cheaper"... what you mean is that although I am selling the car at a very good cheap price which is below market value they are vainly hoping I'm not that bright and are trying to get it cheaper, which of course I know they think I'll give the car away, which I won't

No Tony, definately not, I'm trying to get away from full restorations completely.. I'm just going to concentrate on getting a quircky Italian road going car for everyday use, restoring my own stuff and help keep Sylvia, Juppy and Splutter on the road.

tought I had finally found a rattle in the barge this morning but it turned out my daughter had put a penny in the rear ashtray.
