i used a credit car slid it under and popped it off. try doing a side at a time, starting at the side furthest from air bag as there is a lip that like goes under there

It says 'pop them out with your fingers', I was giving it a good pull and couldn't get them off? More brute force or is there a technique?

Sorry I didn't explain it very well

To get the whole control button unit out from the steering wheel you will need to use a flat head screwdriver to lift them out, They are just pushed in but are quit tight.

when you have done this you will have to take the face plate away from the circuit board that is in the block attached to face plate. It is held on by 2 clips either side, again use screwdriver to pop apart. Very easy to do but also easy to break clips so be gentle.

Finally you will have the face plate off but with the buttons still attached, all you need to do then is push the buttons from behind to get away from the face plate(the part you will be painting).

Haha no problem. Sounds much harder than it really is once you have them out from the steering wheel you will know how to do it.

Looks 100% better when done and makes an instant impact for pennies

Bought a couple of blue LED strips as well, to go into the footwells
I'm going to wire them into the cigarette lighter, but does anyone know how to get to the bottom of it? Removing plastic panels etc? cheers

it supposidly just pulls out but i couldnt get it out so i soldered the wires onto the block as there are little metal contacts on it. there is a way of getting it out but i didnt succeed hahaha. anyway the way i did it works perfectly

I would wire them to the interiour light,, so that they work with the door's opening and cloing looks much better so extend the wires with electrical wire and solder them to the terminals then run them under the cars trim at the top and then run them down the door and into the foot wells would be so much better the is a full guide on the pg guides so have a look there!!

yeh no problem,, the interiour lights wont be affected either as there is sufficent suply of power for the both of them as well as two more, but i would advise you to get two white led lights for the interiour light as it looks better than yellow and is a good light to still see things around the car (dont get other colours like blue) makes it hard to see i personally got 2 more led strips and wired them into the back footwell's as in my punto i have no back lights. good luck anyways man

some gp are different,, but if you can go to the interiour light and you should be able to pull it down with your hands and then see if these 1's match ur's. if any problems just message back gd luck.
