i think if you had white rear lights, it would almost blend into the snow! thats not a suggestion btw.

Haha yeah almost, had tonnes here. cheers mate 
used a screw driver with a sheet around it to ply the badge off the rear, its held on with adhesive and 2 locating pins. popped it off, then got a blade to get the centre piece out. i just used my airbrush paints, to do the black i poured the paint into the cut outs and let it dry

Tried to take my wing mirror covers off today, nearly pulled the whole thing off the car. Any help?

hand each side of the cap then wiggle it a little then just tug it, well thats what i did and mine came off
I'd leave your mirror covers on. Dont listen to anyone, no one to this day has currently managed to change just their wing covers.

Nah mate, looks a bit tacky in my opinion.
Your other plans sound good though, maybe colour code door handles? And get foglights if you don't already have them. (Can't see in the pic)

No I don't have foglights. I've seen a few other people talk about doing but it looks pretty complicated fitting switches and all that
