Hi, so in the summer i paid £215 to fiat to disconnect my blue and me, as it was draining the battery. I got across the city, and realised the odometer was still flashing. I drove back in rush hour with a dodgy clutch, to be told they can't stop it flashing, tough luck. So have had odo flashing for almost a year now.

I was searching for my battery tray issues, and saw blue and me, and ppl saying a proxy alignment after disconnecting fixes the flashing.

Is that something that can be done at home, or by my local garage (they wouldn't touch the blue and me), or is it something fiat should've done? I can't drive to the city until I sort my clutch issues. I've got stuck doing that, as can't take the battery tray out.

Thankyou.

Outrageous of the Fiat dealer to not fix the issue especially after you paid them so much. It's dead easy if you have the right software. How do these crooks sleep at night?

Best way forward is to find someone on the forum's MultiEcuscan register near you. They can do a proxy alignment for you, maybe for free or a cup of tea. Basically one plugs in a laptop or other device and runs an operation to tell the car's body computer to stop stressing that one of the control units has disappeared - which is what the flashing mileage indicates...

Failing that you may find your local garage has access to more general garage software that can do the same thing, though if they wouldn't disconnect a B&M unit they may be a bit scared of doing an alignment.... and they would charge for it.

Omg thats brilliant, thankyou! I did wonder if it was a laptop thing, as the other week I saw a man on youtube talking about blue and me, and I realised how badly fiat had done me over. He was saying you can buy a part (I forgot what it is) that you plug into the car and a laptop. It was £35, but idk how old the video was. That must be a proxy alignment. Thankyou!

Yes! so funny. he was already helping me with a battery tray removal issue in another thread!
Well looking at MES you will need the cars key security code which may possibly be found on the Code card, but I suspect thats long gone. If so you need to get the cars code from a dealer. Desira parts did find 3 for me free of charge but recently I have not had a reply following a request for the new cars. I will try them again and try and find out the score.

This is the OBDII interface I got, about £35 and works well:
If you're confident using computers, MultiECUScan is a very useful tool.

There's a free version of the software available to download to a Windows PC, good for clearing error codes, but I don't know if you need the paid version for a proxy alignment?

Not that famous I’ve never once been recognised in public and never been invited to the cannes film festival or the Oscar’s I don’t think the film industry recognises my creative genius just yet

As far as I understand, even if you have the B&M disconnected you will still have flashing odometer - this won't stop BUT...your battery shouldn't drain - experiencing the same issue and hope I can share what I have learnt - so your battery shouldn't drain after disconnecting B&M module but mileage will continue to flash - I'm having my B&M disconnected soon and have been told that the mileage will continue to flash! Hope this helps!

Oooooh it does, thankyou. I was gonna go all Karen on the branch manager next week, and make em do it for free like they should've, so I'm glad the universe sent you to stop me! Also, I really didn't want to have to get one of those Karen haircuts lol

My understanding is ; following b and m disconnect a successful proxi alignment procedure will stop the mileage display flashing.

I bought the Multiscan ECU software and a cable from eBay, it stopped the odometer flashing. If you're not confident any FIAT specialist should be able to do this for you.
