Hello everyone,
I need some help diagnosing a problem with my Fiat 500 TwinAir (0.9 automatic).
I recently installed a used instrument cluster in my car. When I attempted to run a Proxy Alignment, it failed because the replacement cluster didn’t match my vehicle configuration.
After that, I reinstalled my original instrument cluster and performed a Proxy Alignment again, which completed successfully. However, ever since then, my front wipers have completely stopped working.
Here’s what I’ve checked so far:
  • All fuses are OK
  • Headlights and turn indicators work normally
  • Only the rain sensor option appears in the Body Computer menu
  • The “Front Wiper” configuration option no longer appears in Multiecuscan
  • The wiper stalk switch does nothing (no movement, no sound)
It looks like the BCM (Body Computer) may have lost the “Front Wiper Present” configuration after the failed Proxy Alignment.
Does anyone know how I can restore the correct configuration?
Specifically:
  • How can I re-enable the front wiper option in the BCM?
  • Is there a way to force the BCM to reload or recover the missing wiper settings?
Any advice or experience with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I have found by sad experience that sometime(particularly when replacing instruments) mes can remove something from the bit code memory depending on how the replacement cluster was/is configured. even replacing the old one then does not restore function!) in my case it removed the ability to turn the DRL lights on and off from the sub menu buttons next to the speedo.
I have never been able to resolve this! which is why some on the forum advise downloading the original set up into storage before attempting any changes unfortunately i did not know this at the time( and would have had no idea how to do it anyway!.
I hope some one else on here can help you or that its something simpler than that, best of luck.

What year, as I see nothing in MES to control any wiper functions whatsoever (unless I missed it, but I had a good blokey look :ROFLMAO: ).
So my thinking is that it's hard wired. but...
Later models may use an ECU to do the delay timing functions?
