As an radio operator I would like to add my cup to the CB-ers
The best solution for antenna mounting is by magnet on roof. When you don't need it or in tight places you yust pull it of and you have clean roof (without obstacles). Be aware when you are mounting magnetic pad - put some thin carpet or something under it or you will scratch your panda.
Cable can be in fixed position all the way to the back and there just folded together with pad. Antenna can be easily "storaged" above your head. Make some kind of velcro holders attached to roof (from inside). Antenna can be hanged on them (one back, one front) and would be barrely noticed.
When buying CB check alternator power. Most stations work on 50W and you can easily run out of power.
Connect CB directly to battery with 10A fuse and use an IP56 or more connector between cable in cabin and cable in motorbay. If doing so there will be no problem changing cables or servicing engine/cabin.
For any info use google and anything like radioamateur transceiver mounting for mobile operation. By the way...the top of the top solution is to hide antenna in A pillar
A friend of mine did this and comunication in range of 5km is just fine.
