We've been quite productive today. Repaired Poppi's slight blow on exhaust, the join in the middle (y) Re-attached the front washer pipe to the washer jet so the windows now get washed rather than the engine :ROFLMAO: and fitted Poppi's poppy on her front grill.

Wash, wax n brush out. All ready to get dirty again.

Today i assesed what i need to do tomorrow as i didnt have much time today.

Easy jobs for tomorrow are:

Fit Clock from CLX, this will be easier done by removing the front dash panels form both and swapping them over, as dad wants the CLX to have the digi clock and its stuck on pretty well so it saves having to clean the dash with spirits.

Remove bodged front speakers and mounts. two screws either side as i can see.

Fit them into the back cards. Back cards have cut outs and the grille pieces you get with speakers fitted... but no speakers so hopfully i can fit them into their with no trouble. Only issue i can see atm is that the speakers cables may be used to power the 6x9s in the rear shelf

Refurb original wheel trims. Self explanatory lol. not sure if i should go Black, silver, or primer and laquer it.... ideas? Theyre the full size trims that attach with the bolts.

Check throotle stiffness. Pedal is abnormaly stif, for any car really, have to give it a firm press which is a pain trying to reverse park up a hill as i just found out. I'll check the bit on the TB connected tot he butterfly, if i cant move this by had hopefully it'll be a case of slackening a bolt of a little bit. if i can do it easy then its somewhere else along the cable.

Fit speaker pods and speakers from the CLX. again self explanatory. only small issue is that the button for the air horns(yes it has air horns, and bloody load ones too) is fixxed inside of the end hammock support in drivers side so that will need relocating.

Fit the cat protection bar to her. Bar that i painted red on the CLX should fit on her no trouble so will look at doing that so she looks a bit cooler.

Attempt to get the front bumber sitting straight again. Typically the front bumber is hanging at the sides so the bracket bolts need a tighten... hope its that simple anyway.

Thats all the main jobs, lots of detailing i can do if it stays dry.

I brimmed her with petrol too this morning, £38 and i put £10 in her on the way back yesterday! tank does look much bigger though.

oh and take loads of pics.

 Busy day ahead then :)

Sounds like there is a lot of Panda work going on today! Good luck all! Our list:

CLX:

Re-check ignition timing (serviced the distributor last weekend and, for the first time in years, it is not pinking!). Just want to adjust ever so slightly as a little bit flat....famous last words eh.

Lower idle speed (connected to above!).

Investigate rattle (front nearside, almost as if part of the old lock is rattling in the door, or perhaps something around the battery tray - hard to locate but it's doing my head in!).

Wash & clean.

4x4:

Refit heater assembly (swapped the heater matrix during the week as the valve on the last one was stuck).

Replace exhaust!

I think it's going to be a busy day, and am sure I'll end up trying to close a can of worms rather than getting all of the above done! :)

Wel i did three of the jobs.

Cat protection bar wont be fitted as the arent any mounts for it

speakers in rear cards is a no atm caos as suspected cables are used for the rear 6x9s

didnt even look at the bumber mounts or the trims, although i did take the old ones off. might have a go at cleaning the trims and sanding them tomorrow.

removed airbox and when rmoving breather pipe... oh ****, mayo, so off with the rocker cover and the oil looks good and clean so i think it was just condensation in there. phew!

removed the rear shelf, nice pair of 6x9s in there so will make a new shelf up to house them better. perhaps tomorrow night

good day in all really.

I've been revamping my wheels...
After two years, my lovely split-rims were looking a little worse for wear:

Plus some monkey at the garage put a balencing weight on the front of the wheel when changing the tire(n)
Luckely though, my unkle has use of a shot-blaster so stripped off the worst of the rust and flakey paint. I then attacked the worst areas with some sand paper to get them ready for painting:

Masked up and ready for paint.

Two cans of hammerite smooth later ive got some pristine white split rims to go back on the beast. -Im a bit sad to loose the red and blue pinstripes round the wheel but hey what can you do. Here's the finished article:

Also, Its not a recent install but i thought i'd include a picture of my speaker install in the rear side-wall. Add these to two of the classic 'pod' speakers and you get a pretty good sound all around.

Thanks Craig. Truth is i dont know what they are from, I know they are from a Brazilian manufacturers called Mangels. I got then from a bloke who had them to put on a kit car... Luckely they had the correct PCD to fit the panda(y)
I cant wai to fit them back on the car, too wet today unfortunatly thouhg.
One for the next post i think.

gave the 4x4 a quick check over today for the winter also changed the oil. found a couple of wires burnt out in the dizzy just waiting to let me down at the most anoying moment! I found an old damaged dizzy in the depths of the garage so I swapped the internals over refitted the dizzy, set the timing and carb its running great now(y)

Well it was too wet to get out the waxoil but I did manage to change the oil and filter on the 750L.
Also removed the drums hoping to find the ratchet type self adjusting mechanism so that I could click them up a touch, as I did last weekend on the CLX. But as I expected, the 750 still has those rubbish friction pads that you can't do anything with. When did they change the design?

I also slipped off the fan belt to check if the alternator was causing my rattle at tickover as some of you suggested. (see 'top end rattle' thread).
