General What have you done for her/him recently?

well here's what I've been busy with while other, more important stuff breaks:bang:
new tyres, then when I went to put the wheels back on I thought they looked a bit tatty so cleaned 'em up and resprayed 'em. Total amateur, spraying them after the new tyres went on I know but hey..

also, as mentioned above, been scraping off knackered sill protection to tidy and redo. Been putting this off since last summer when I got him back out:
this is the one I've been going at:

this is the one I've yet to do:( maybe I should have done this last summer:

still seems solid but getting pretty tatty. See how much comes off with the trusty wire brush attachment:(

Meanwhile the stupid thing, seemingly ungrateful for the attention, has now developed a nasty habit of intermittently refusing to idle and misfiring like buggery on light throttle openings (blocked idle jet???) and now seems to need the application of a largeish hammer to the starter solenoid to start every so often. AAAAAARGH!:bang:
character eh:) gotta love 'em
Andrew.

oh yes, almost forgot. Handy hint here for transforming the handling of your trusty ride. When lowering the car, always remember to re tighten all the nuts you've taken off. Car was wandering about a bit and I thought 'now, the bushes on the front radius arm looked a bit knackered, wonder if they've disintegrated after we messed with them'
no they were still there but now really quite a lot of play in them cos the nuts were nearly off:eek:
oops.
got a torque wrench on them, hopefully OK now. handles significantly better.
Am I too late for IOTY?
Andrew.

Worth it I just drew round a template of a 6x9 on shelf and got jigsaw and file to it fits well now tho! Did you use something like radx to flush yours? Mine defo needs it doin still oil in water from head gasket.(y)

Redflush from halfords went in for a week. seemed to work ok.

Already had 6x9s in, built custom shelf, sagged though because the amp was screwed to the underside. new ideas for the next one, will do a little build thread or post in hear when complete. Apparently its going to rain thoguh so i might have to squeez in the garage

First off....Manda guys...great job painting...and the sills look...

Andrew.....good to see youv'e been busy...your Sergio gets better and better...despite your efforts to kill it by not doing nuts up!!!....Can't keep a good car down!!!...Let me know if you need some bits for your carb...

After changing rad fluid, shes developed a leak, had a feel and it seem that the bottom rad hose wasnt pushed on far enough. Opps. Fix in the morning.

Also plan on a new shelf build for 6x9's, already got half the old one, but fancy something new and different this time.

Hose is allt he way on and tightly secured now, but it still drips... bottom of rad is really wet and is dripping quite fast. Hope there isnt a rad leak.

This annoyed me that i cant be bopthered to try and fit the 6x9s again. it'll make things worse for me...

She'll be up on stands later for further inspection

spare carb fitted, I actually have a choke again now for the winter!! Spare starter motor fitted, hopefully no more hammer action for a while. Biggest pain of the day... threading the stupid choke cable back together:bang:
Momo wheel back on and steering column lifted (don't ask) now much chunkier to hang on to.
Still got the sills to do and I'm watching the rain come down now. Ah well.
Andrew.

Yeah she looks almost complete now. Just back from collecting the brand new bumper we bought for her. Going to fit it tomorrow evening after work. Will post some pics of before and after.

Hehehe *a hessatant omg we'll be having fun hehe* That'll be fun lol.

The saga continues with my rad. bottom hose isn't split, and is on the rad and tightend fully!

Wate is dripping of the rad, but this only occurs when running, straight away from start up to. can only think it happens when under a bit of pressure or circulating.

Anyway, new rad order of Ebay, comes with a new fan too. not so happy about the price though. cheaper than everywhere else though.

I have been rubbing down the mat black spray paint over the decals saying 'black'. Some T-Cut on small areas and other big areas will need respraying I think.

By the way, does anyone know where i can get some Seat Marbella decals, Preferably the metal ones that go on the back as the previous were stickers and had to be removed for respray..

Sounding good blurredman - this was quite a tidy Marbella from memory? Not sure where you could get stickers from (perhaps try eBay Spain?) but look forward to seeing end result.

On holiday with my boys this week, so was able to have a morning doing jobs on the princess. Managed to take off and replace my shocks (thanks Jangcy) and also fit my new mudflaps.

Piccies below, I am well chuffed with the end result - I love my new red shock absorber too!(y)
