General Water in tailgate !!!!

Yup Agree

Wiped of the french chalk after I thought I’d solved it 😡

It’s pi88ing down here so don’t need the hose 🤣😂

I’ll get it sorted- just need a dry patch to get to the source

🤞

Bump stop you say ?

Are you sure the leak is not around the rear bumper mounts and then running inside the car?

Is the rear carpet wet at all especially around the central console

Eh up - dry as a bone in rear.

When I say bump stop mean the little rubber screw in bungs in the tailgate itself.

They are on each side.

Definitely not coming in around bumper itself - leak is In tailgate - somewhere 🤨

Cheers for input-👍

Eh up from Pi88ed off ,🤬

The sodding thing is STILL full of water .....🤯WT8 😬

Checked this afternoon and it pi88ed out when I took the bump stop out.

To say I was mildly upset was an understatement 😂

Even my faithful Cocker Spaniel ran for it ......

Mmm well back to drawing board - I’m now think 🤔 it must be coming in from the brake light ....who knows 🤔

I ain’t giving up on this mission 😡

Hey ho from sunny 😎 Yorkshire ☔

Have I said I hate water 💦 leaks !!!!!
There are two drain holes in the very bottom of the tailgate edge (when shut), which drain outside beyond the rubber seal of the tailgate opening, so water should not be able to back up as high as where the bump stops (buffers) screw into. Are those drain openings clear. Unless either (1) someone's filled the tailgate with wax (which will block them), or (2) a lot of dirt has got inside there and clogged the drains, there's no way it should hold water. With the tailgate open, the drains holes are a short distance either side of the boot latch. It's dark outside so this photo might not be too clear, but might help. And how is it getting so full so quickly? I know it's rained recently, but enough to fill up a part of the car that is pretty well protected from water ingress? I still say check the washer pipes...

Eh up 👍

Yes checked these even taken them out - again just to double check they were clear - all good 😁

Had trim off again today to look around 🤔

Cannot fathom it out, french chalked again today so let’s see what happens

The bump stop act like a little well and hold the water 💦

I get your point - it might not be helping I’m parked nose down on the drive☹️ But that ain’t changing

Cheers for all the support on this as it’s really annoying me 🤬

Would rather be changing the rear discs - and that’s saying something on these cars 👍😁

Nope mine have a plastic plug in drain cover, it’s just a pressing so clip in out as easy as owt.

Something and nothing of a clip , it’s all clear as I’ve put my endoscopic camera down as well.

You can see it’s clear from the inside too.

I’m at a loss 🤔 so far

Sacked it today and had a Hob Goblin Gold to think it over 👍

23 plate low mileage Panda 4x4 Wild with water gathering within tailgate. Noticeable after rain when water rushes to top when lid is opened.
Under warranty the car has gone to a Fiat dealer miles away who claimed they would use their body shop not on the premises, but they did not.
( A Fiat dealer near me, of the same company, refused to look at the car as they said it would have to go to a boidy shop.)
I was told that the problem was possibly due to the washer hose damaged by frost. When I got the car back after they said they had fixed the car,
they did not give the cause. ( The car had previously been in for the problem a couple of times when they were to look at the problem in connection
with warranty trim work and a service, but the did nothing and said I would have to come back. Tired of the wasted long yourneys. )
The car still has the problem, after rain, and the car has again been booked in, for two days. ( I will have to pay for isurance if I want a courtesy car
to get home. ) I have noticed that the two panels making up the tailgate have been badly put together at the top with little overlap and poor crimping
with holes up to 2mm diameter. When lifting the tailgate, water drips out of the holes. Have not seen water coming out of bottom drainholes.
This has been pointed out to the dealer, with no reaction. If the car was not under warranty, I would have sealed the holes. Water may of course have
come in from another route than through the holes. Any comments please ?

I visited the Fiat showroom near me and saw the new Grande Panda. Any opinions ? I personally found the car pretencious, as it was over badged
in many vaieties, and as part of the surrounds to the instrument panel was a plastic Lingotto track with a plastic Fiat on it !. ( The old Fiat Lingotto factory
in Turin had a roof-top track. ) The rear lights and the interior vents apparantly had proportions to copy the windows of the Lingotto factory's wndows,
and I don't think they look great. The vents have dangerously sharp corners. May be special editions, like Sisley etc. and a 4x4 will look better.
All these references to Fiat after the car is now a Stellantis product with common underpinnings with the Citroen C3. It will be interesting to see how the
engine will fare - based on a disastrous Pure Tec engine, reworked with now a timing chain. The Panda I have is still produced and sold only in Italy
as the Pandina ( Small Panda ).

Eh up, I finally diagnosed mine last year .

The issue was was seams on the tailgate, they were simply badly crimped and welded, water was creeping into the cavity through these .

I also had creeping rust under the paint work, looks like little spider legs

Rubbed down the pint and used a seam sealer the reseal the joints, a
the way around the lower tailgate, starting half the way up. You can see where the skins are formed around the tailgate.

I defiantly sorted it, mines now done dry, no moisture in there at all and no sloshing water in the bottom of the tailgate

Hop this helps

Sealbo bonding around the rear window prehaps?
I use Holts Seak n Seal. Its in a little can like the old 3 in 1 oil. My rear screen has ed after a bodywork job This filled the tailgate. Seak n Seal around the glass sealed it after a couple of goes, and dry since. Panda rear screens are only 2.5 or 3mm thick so be very careful as they are easily broken. Having seen teh high level ight out of the car I doubt that will be the cause.

I will have to pay for isurance if I want a courtesy car
to get home.
If you have comprehensive insurance on your Panda, then most insurers include cover for you to drive a courtesy car provided by ‘the motor trade’ if your car is being serviced or repaired … I had the same issues with Glyn Hopkin in Hatfield who wanted me to pay their insurance. I showed them my policy and they reluctantly agreed I didn’t need to pay them. I think they try it on with every customer and prob get away with it most times.

We’ve also got 23 plate low mileage Panda 4x4 Wild, bought it from Stoneacre in July 23 as a pre-reg, when we picked the car up the rear passenger seat behind the driver’s seat was damp at the door end of the seat and it did seem to get a bit wet in the following weeks I thought the water was maybe getting in at the window or the door seal, depending upon where the car was parked on the drive and wind prevailing conditions etc.

I put a plastic seat cover on the rear seat bench but I never ever found water on the seat cover and the seat eventually dried out and it’s never happened again.

I’m guessing that when the car was parked up at the dealership before we bought it then someone must’ve left either the rear driver’s side window slightly open or the door wasn’t closed properly and the seat got wet.

I remember we watched a video of the car pre-sale and there was a bit of a dark patch on the seat in the video I just put it down to a shadow at the time but it’s been okay for the last 18months, all very odd though.
