Hi,We have a yr2000 fiat ducato 2.8idTD bessacarrE745 , was 3500kg as ducato maxi td mwb, but re plated as AL-KO KOBER CHASSIS conversion 3850kg .At the moment the tax is for plg @£215.00 , but we have been told this is not the tax it should be ,it should be PHVG @ £165.00 as over 3500kg do you know if this is right ,any help gratefully received .:confused:
 
Hi,We see in the LRO mag that your local D V L A office will close in 2013 and all inspections for mods, restorers and problems will have to go to Swansea ,this is to save £26 million a year to the gov.:bang:

Inspections were never normally done at local offices anyway. They'll probably just keep using local garages like they currently do, although I'm not best pleased about them shutting either. October 2013 it is. More people jobless (n)
 
Follow the advise in the attached link and go to your local DVLA office with your V5 and a photo of the weight plate.

You are applying to change the Tax Class and they may require an inspection of the vehicle either by themselves or VOSA. If the vehicle has been down plated by a previous owner then there should be a plate with the new weights which would superced the original one. If you now want to revert back to the original weight then you need a certificate from a company such as SVtech.
