Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 04/03/07 GEARBOX OFF!!! :-O

If I was doing this (I know I'm not:) ) then I would get the clutch underway now. Then it will be back when you are ready to go again. I find you are always waiting for someone else and thats why 20 hours of work lasts a year.

well, we're back on track and started to do a few bits.

picked up my near mint 2nd hand mk1 boot off my mate who was storing it for me as mines got a massive crack up the middle of it which u could repair, but easier to source a good 2nd hand one.

as u can see its proper dirty as its been sat outside for ages apparently.
good old "Turbosystems" sticker! now thats oldskool hehe

Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 18/05/07 Bootylicious!!!

Yeah come on Dunc stop fannying around with cosmetics and get the car mechanically sorted and on the road. I think we all want to hear that this car is finally on the road after the long slog.

yeah so do i. ive boxed my gearbox, clutch and flywheel up ready to take down hopefully one day next week, then they said it would only take a couple of days to sort. after that, its bolt it all back to gether and get the thing started and moving. then its just the brakes to sort. im at work today or id be on it!

Friday 18th May 2007

well, tonite i got a bit more of my boot done being as there not much i can do on the actual car at the mo.

bit of fibre glassing. got rid of the lock, handle hole, number plate holes, washer jet hole under the spoiler and wiper hole

after the fibre glassing, onto the filler

and getting there! :D
18052007277.jpg

coming along! just gotta finish it over the weekend and get it primered up. then im gonna take it for spraying and judge their spraying quility to see if i wanna take my car there for its full respray. bit of a test bed this is hence why im doing it now ;)

Dunno about that, once it's one piece and going it's soooo hard to take it apart again to fix those bits "I am gonno do l8ter". It will be even harder having the fun u will be. Also looking after several cars just chews time up.

Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 18/05/07 Bootylicious!!!

looking great!

just getting fussy with this little crack in the boot and that;) I'm also getting more and more drawn to UT ownership, I want something 80's and turbo'd, either a saab 900 t16 turbo, UT, volvoturbo (too big and insurance is incredible) for a summer project/life waster;)

plenty of NA uno's in cumbrian scrapyards too:cool: most in minty nick ,just no one wants them anymore an the scrap man gives you £60 no matter what it is:rolleyes:
