daymn. your making me so jealous!

just wish i could find a mint shell and i'll be on my way (to getting nowhere near what you've got, but at least rust free and on the road!).

are you planning to route the fuel hose thru the car or underneath?

Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 29/10/07 Goodridge Fuel Connectors

Not got any coupe wheels, but got some Stilo Abarth 16's in Anthracite with legal tyres if your interested.
Just sat in the garage surplus to requirments, was going to have them fully polished, but bought a new set of 17's instead.
Smaller wheel better for acceleration and handling than 17's.
Just had to have a new gearbox put in my Marea as the old one trashed the internals, apparently my mate at the garage reckons the way I drive I need straight cut gears, I wish..

Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 29/10/07 Goodridge Fuel Connectors

Come on Dunc get this car sorted, stop pissing around with flash tanks, get the car mobile again!

Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 29/10/07 Goodridge Fuel Connectors

well, here i am, back from the dead :D hehe

UT has now come off the road (not like it really ever was on the road!) but the tax has ran out!

had too much on my plate with other things, but the UT is still here and i still have a planned list of stuff to do over winter before March when i re tax it and get it setup finally!

as from my last post, i had bought a few Goodridge connectors, well ive bought even more now and its starting to get very very pricey! but, boy are they looking good! taking a while to do, and im not having much time on it at the moment, but heres what ive done so far :D

just dropped off my tank to have the lugs welded on so i can bolt the tank down finally, then i can get the fuel lines fitted in place with 'P' clips :D

going to buy a new fuel filter and uprated fuel pump, both with the -6 threaded fittings on so i can use goodridge connectors. also going to bring them both inside the car just behind the drivers seat instead of under neath the car.

so i'll have a FSE uprated fuel pump for sale soon which fits straight into place ;)

Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 29/10/07 Goodridge Fuel Connectors

Dunc, you slacker! Get that fookin' UT on the road! :p

Looking good, but with all the pro stuff you've got fitted the Mickey Mouse OMP rear strut brace looks out of place. Looking at the picture I can't understand why OMP didn't make the bracket fit to the two solid mounting bolts on the rear towers rather than the rubber mounted shock absorber tops. It's hardly going to be bracing anything when the two mounting points are wobbling around in rubber

Otherwise looking top notch as usual. 2008 for the UT to rise like a phoenix from the ashes (y)

Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 29/10/07 Goodridge Fuel Connectors

i see where your coming from with the rear strutt brace, and i have contemplated getting a custom one made up and acutally welded in place, but this will have to be done another time.

plans over winter are.......

1. finish getting my braided fuel lines fitted along with new fuel pump etc relocated inside
2. get the tank bolted in and up and running
3. strip old standard fuel tank/lines out of the car
4. get the gearbox/clutch prob sorted once and for all

then when it comes to march time, im going to get it taxed, back on the road, then instantly off for a respray and get it setup on the rolling road and use it over next year while doing more mods ;)

note to self: buy lots of overpriced ally fittings not to be out bling'd by Dunc.

when the weather picks up and the nites get longer etc, the fuel cell and fuel lines will be finished off along with sorting the clutch out once and for all! then get it rolling roaded!

so ive not forgotten about it, just having a break off it until its warmer as my garage is FREEEEEZIN!!!

:D

Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 29/10/07 Goodridge Fuel Connectors

cool dunc nice motor, when you bringing it down? you them fittings dont come cheap especially if you get them from demon tweeks like i did:(, sure i could sort you a strut brace out mate. just getting one ready for mine to be welded in as mot man didnt like the harnesses round the strut brace on the struts

Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 29/10/07 Goodridge Fuel Connectors

i can see why you have put the brakes on the ut project. you must be having some fun in your new motor.

which one would you say is more fun the 200sx or the ut

wayne mate, gonna have a pop up on sunday i think if you about?
and what strut brace? u mean for my 200?

theyre totally different to drive mate.
in a straight line the 200sx would pull away up to about 30 cos of traction but then the UT would hammer past it from about 40-50mph. also on the twisties the UT would have the 200.

but............from 90/100mph upwards the 200sx would pull away due to the streamline shape of it, and also the 200sx goes side ways when provoked which is mint! and also if u take off quick from the lights in the 200sx, the rear end squirms about and fish tails hehe, which is awesome :D

but remember tho, the 200sx is fairly standard. its only got an exhaust, filter and a tiny bit more boost. when i get round to uprating the fuel pump and fitting a stage 1 chip, i can then raise the boost and will see about 270bhp (y)

the UT will always be with me tho, and it will deffo get finished, dont worry about that people. i wanna do some track days in it sooner rather than later! lol
