Sunday 24th June 2007

well, today i started all enthusiastic to do some work on it, but i just ended up going out in it for a while instead lol :p

anyway, managed to get a few jobs done. first off, it seems to be crunching as i put it into 3rd gear, and i remembered that i'd spilt loads of gearbox oil out of it! oops! so filled it back up with my DIY gearbox oil filler assembly :D lol

the blue hose goes down into the gearbox oil plug thing. worked a treat!
uno_resto_084.jpg

started to refit my NOS bottle and braided line
uno_resto_085.jpg

managed to get it really neat but it took alot of doing!
uno_resto_086.jpg

gotta finish fitting it and get it all wired in. gonna get a auto electrician to do all that tho lol

next, i decided to soften the suspension up as im not joking, it was soooo bloody hard, i felt like my teath were coming out! it was set on the hardest setting, so i softened it up all round to half way instead. makes it much better but still a little harsh lol

i also decided to lower the front down a bit as it was sitting arse end down. sits much better now :)
uno_resto_088.jpg

also put my other plates on and heres how its sat now :)

Nice work Dunc, know what you mean about hard suspension unless it's Silverstone it's just no good the lack of compression can get hairy on bumpy B-roads at speed.

Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 22/06/07 ROAD LEGAL

right a couple of small updates :) nothing too exciting for now

Thursday 28th June 2007

got thursday off work and decided to start the dreaded job i'd been putting off for ages.........undersealing the bugger :(

everyone else at work (mates etc), so no one to disturb me, i thought it was the best time to do it :)

took a few pics before i started. As you can see, the underseal had burnt off in places where the shell had been stitch welded for strength. and i had been putting this job off for sooooooooo long  Now it had gone a bit rusty, but nothing major as u can see.

went to my local Belper Auto Tech, and bought these few bits :D
28062007331.jpg

then after some hard sanding, grinding, wire brushing, kurusting and then waxoiling and protecting EVERYWHERE possible, it looked like this :D much better huh? yay!
28062007335.jpg

28062007336.jpg

made sure it got a very very good covering in all nooks and crannies! hopefully should keep the rust at bay!

before i set off home, i wanted to stick down my boot release cable as it rattles about when going along. so stuck it down and left some weight on the places id stuck down over nite :) Ypu can see my paddle clutch has come in handy after all :D lol

Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 02/07/07 Undersealed and cleaned!

ill be keeping may hands of now fella... seen lots of goodies for the alfa and need all the pennies i can get my hands on

(organs for sale aslong as they come in pairs, enquire by pm)

every little helps mate, i just cleaned the alfa and i know i need to do some work to the body work, but t-cutting the roof helped it look less out of place.. just need to do it again and then the rest of the car, but tomorrow its patches turn for a wash :)

keep it up and the carbon intake sounds good to me :D

Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 02/07/07 Undersealed and cleaned!

that thing ain't ever gonna corrode! its only when you see those last few pics with all the new brake's and hoses, and clean springs and completly minty fresh wheel archs do you realise its basically a brand new unoT, but one that won't be falling apart atall in the near future, good work (y)
