Re: UT Restoration, New Thread. UPDATED 29/10/07 Goodridge Fuel Connectors
OK! here we go! just to get u all up to speed, i still have the gearbox/clutch probs!
so, to sort it once and for all, ive had a new release bearing, a new AP Racing Clutch, the flywheel skimmed so its perfect and now i'm sending the box off very soon for a rebuild!
in DEC 07 i started to plumb in my fuel tank with my Goodridge Connectors and braided lines.
then i left it at that for Xmas and new year, then January i got the 200sx, march i wrote the 200sx off and didnt feel like cars much, so now end of May/begining of June i've got full motivation and we're off!
I sold the nitrous kit, as i want to get the car painted and all jobs finished before i start going further with mods. I'll prob buy another NOS kit at a later date, but for now its all about getting EVERYTHING done and dusted and painted!
So, Sunday 1st June, me and Smed go down to my garage and the UT gets stripped down at the front end and off comes the box! that was enough for that day! took ages due to the fact we were going round seeing what other small jobs needed doing and making a list!
Last nite (monday 2nd june), i went down to the garage after work and was greeted with this mess lol
as u can see, lots of clutches etc, one of them has got to work!! :bang: This is the 7th time the box has come off and a different clutch/flywheel/box combo has gone on! Being as i cant fit the box back on yet (due to it not being rebuilt yet obviously!) i decided to crack on with getting my fuel tank plumbed in as this needs to be fully working before a respray as im having the original fuel filler/cap area welded up and smoothed off.
first job, i took the tank and fuel pump off and took the fuel lines out.
Then is was time to crack on routing the new lines. This is the route the fuel return is taking (not yet bolted down)
and neatly under the seat through where the original fuel lines went
and bolted down. As u can see, i decided the fuel line had too many connectors in before, and ive reduced them and got rid of quite a few. looks alot tidier and less likely to leak!
in the above picture, the braided hose with the connector on the end is only there for working things out. this will be replaced with one that runs without a connector all the way down to the fuel pump which will be relocated inside the car behind the drivers seat.
any questions, just ask!
