General two year service due

I have got a 56 reg Doblo 1.9 jtd diesel 7 seater - just been quoted £ 500 odd for its two year annual service by the Fiat main dealer. I asked why it was so much and the receptionist in the service dept said it was mainly due to it having to have the brake fluid replaced (in addition to the pollen filter and air filter etc.) so theres a fair bit of labour involved with bleeding the system etc. Now, like most sane people, I need this done to preserve the warranty BUT preferably I would like it done a bit more cheaply ! Should I get it done by a local garage (who isnt a fiat dealer/specialist) just to save some pennies or should i take it back to the main dealer and not eat for the next three months ?! Fiat dealers need NOT reply to this thread !

The service you're describing was being sold to me as a 3 year service (and Perrys wanted £400).
I had an interim service done (based on 25k miles) plus MOT for less than half what Perrys wanted.
Another bonus for me was that driving further afield warmed the engine nicely for the oil change and emmissions test.
(Remembers hearing one garage thrashing the guts out of a diesel to warm it up for the emmissions )

When I balked at the price, the thing Perrys were most insistent about was that not having it done would invalidate the 3rd year warranty - with 2 weeks left to run!!!

I came across this website that looks very tempting but when it comes to changing brake fluid and stuff like that, it just states a visual inspection and top up but says elsewhere that the work they do is still compliant with warranty requirements

They have been talkedabout on her before if you do a search...dont think they were rated that much after all its just a company directing you to nearest garage on their lists so they will take a cut out of your money.

I had my 2 year service done last year and my Fiat dealer charged £250...and that included a brake fluid change.

£500 is very excessive.

Where is your garage ? I live in Reading - only Main dealer I know of is in Slough, where I bought my Doblo from.

Not a million miles from you but a fair journey. Might be worth it to save £250.

Give them a call, they'll give you a price over the phone. My 2 year service was 10 months ago now but I can't beleive prices would have doubled in that time.
