I'd suspect a dodgy earth from the fan switch to earth. Can't do any harm to find out which is the (permanent) earth and replicate it. Blue and Martin's car run a low temperature thermostat and a lower temp fan switch.

Im waiting for more day light after work till start cracking on but with having another car nothing is being rushed.
Good work though
cheers fingers ill have a look (i have noticed that when the fan does kick in the central locking clicks... same if press the rear wiper... humm...) but really i think ecu controlled will be the best and maybe more reliable way to go
right cars getting better... had a few quotes done for me zorst.
turbo is now running up to half a bar and it REALLLLY shifts.
anyway... few more questions...
when i rev the car just a little (2k ish) the dump valve stays shut but the turbo makes a good bit of chatter... is that ok/normal?
oh! i mentioned before that i works perfect if you bypass the radiator switch! its what i had to do on a motorway a while back when it came to a stand still.a look or a test? It's a very, very simple circuit -- a live feed to the fan motor, an earth from the fan motor via the rad switch.
yeh this would be VERY low boost. its just when you flick the throttle. you can actualy hear the air rush backwards out the airfilter. All that is with your blow off valve is the spring thats in it is a bit stiff, some say it can cause problems,
i liked the chatter for low boost so intentionally bought one with a stiff spring
i cant see it being a problem as yours seems to do it with very little boost if its below 2k rpm
I only really needed to know because i need to set up the EBC but i cant do that until i have reached the boost level that opens the waste gate. and tuned that area.It could well be that the arm on the wastegate is set to 7psi (which is about the max if you have no intercooler). You can usually adjust them (the bar is usually threaded). Do this at your own risk a little at a time.
An alternative explanation is that the cut out on the take off plate to the downpipe isn't deep enough and is being whacked.
The BOV should only operate when you come off the throttle.
c(stealth FTW!!)
lol maybe but i dont want to draw TO much (of the wrong) attention. as it is now... chavs dont know if to laugh or jizz themselves QUOTE]
I can tell you from personal experience that if they are driving a new mini they get seriously pi**ed of when you accelerate away from them and then when they do catch you up they cry when they realise that they can't slow down for corners a quickly as you can and take out a road sign after mounting the curb![]()
