I don't blame him for wanting to sell his story, I would be pissed if the others where getting so much, will most likely buy his book due to it.

The bloke's not exactly on his last legs and living in a Council flat on a sink estate though is he? I'm sure he could have waited a bit longer to release his autobiography, then he could have resigned from Top Gear on good terms and then released the book.

I honestly dont see what all the fuss is about. So he revealed his identity. Get a new Stig! All that has happened here is that the licence payer (you and me) have paid a £100,000 legal bill to PROMOTE this guys book!

They COULD have just made an announcement that the old stig was gone, introduced a new one, saved £100K and left this guy to promote his own book.

Hate to see money wasted!

There's more than one stig, but Ben Collins is the highest profile wearer of the costume

He's been rumoured for years, its no new news to me and for many others, only confirms what we already thought

TBH, I don't have a clue who Ben is. I have seen the odd episode of top gear so know about the stig.
I agree that we should not have funded a huge legal bill & maybe if he wanted to release a book then he should have quit his job as the stig first.

It does beg the question though, just how much value is there in a contract? He signed a confidentiality agreement. Is a judge now saying any agreement/contract is worthless?

the game was pretty much up for him anyway cus of the freedom of imformation act they showed the world that he provided driving services for TG. i think all theyll do is just replace him with someone who dosent mind being a secret.

Actually you've got a point there. Without this Court case, the release of his book would have been even more low profile than it is.

the only reason i can see he released it now is for money. but after a month or to, the sales of that will slow down to a minimum, whereas staying as the stig will have kept him a wage coming in from the bbc. he could have 'come out' (lol :D) after he resigned in years to come.
he should have released a stig autobiography, will have been a funny read lol.

Ok let me get this straight!
top gear stig revealed”….himself in court!!
The judge must have been shocked to say the least!... thank god William Hague wasn’t passing at the time. :ROFLMAO:

i knew he was the stig but didnt know he had a book until someone said in this thread though
its being published soon its called "the man in the white suite" see i dont understand why he couldnt write about his experiences and stayed anomonous ( probably spelt wrong) its definatly possible

... its called "the man in the white suite" ...

*NEWSFLASH* (breaking news ... or even braking news?)

Now it can be revealed, exclusively to FF ... The Real Stig & white suite
