Tie Rod lock nut? What is the size?

I have to split my tie rod lock nut to get the rod end off. I tried an M12 nut but would not tighten. Does anyone know the size of this bolt or have I got to buy a new tie rod to get the bolt. Cheers

Are you sure the shaft that the nut goes on isn't rotating in the head and due to that you cant get the nut on. Sorry but the right size of it is a mystery to me to.
