You know what i think

I don't think you should be planning any mods on this car until you pass your test and start paying for it.

You need to save up for one as going to cost you alot and remember its your first car within a year of passing this car probably won't be fast enough or good enough your be growing out it by then. It is only 1.2 and is very sluggish like my punto is and my boyfriends.

Unless you get a engine change i think you will grow out of this car very quickly.

As your mum is paying for it and like you said to me she don't like the idea of alloys so until you start paying i wouldn't make any plans.

Plus it will hit you bad aswell when you start paying for your own petrol thats what gets me i can pay the car and insurance it's the petrol which makes me tight for money near end of month. Alot of £5s went in when i was still at college lol but i worked my arse off at weekends to pay for my car.

I've been driving nearly 2years and 3cars later i've only just found a car im happy with and am willing to spend money on it.

good point. i didnt really think of it like that.

i dont wish to sound awkward but where i probably would want to replace my gp in a few years (probably longer with the credit crunch).
when i get something i tend to run it into the ground. eg we have only just replaced our home pc (which we originally bought when i was 7) purely because we were having to start replacing parts.

this is what im like especially with higher value things like cars. so i tend to like to make the most of them (in my eyes at least) which is why i have such a long list of mods planned.

i am in the process of finding a job partly to pay for things like this and because i have too much time on my hands. but currently earn my money by doing chores.

i do get £100 a month off of my ma but i get this instead of her buying me things like games etc and to help me learn to manage my money (there is a history of people in debt in my family).

so its purely a case of me being me and enjoying what ive got instead of thinking of what i may have or want to do in the future.

i hope that makes sense.

Sorry i couldn't be bothered reading through it all.

people say that to me at work all the time when i ask them why they havent done something that i mentioned in an email.

apparently 3 sentences is the maximum amount i can use, any more and its my fault is people dont read it.

i tried sending my emails as several dozen smaller emails, but people dont like that either.

i do have money put to the side in trust funds etc for me as well some of which i can gain access to if i wish but i dont and wont at least not untill i get a job.

please dont think im a spoilt brat.

i have found through life (dont wish to sound emo or anything) but i have found through life so far that the only things that keep me going are my family,fiends,pets and optimism.

you are gonna be saving for about 5 months to get a good set of alloys.

providing you dont spend a penny on anything else.

£100 is still your mum giving you money take that £100 away and you have nothing.

All im saying like i've said on msn is that when mum stops paying it's going to hit you hard no matter how much you earn or work it is never enough i know that sounds harsh but that is whats happens this day and age.

You should at least wait 6months or longer after passing your test before you decide on doing anything, i mean it's not like you need to yet is it you have a car which gets you A to B that will do for now, be happy with what you got im sure some people your age don't have a modern car like you do.

People my age don't even yet everyone i know has a 2nd hand 05 car they think im spoilt because i have a brand new car, no im not spoilt i just work hard for what i get.

I think you annoyed people because you came on saying im going to do blah blah blah to my car and then saying that your mum still pays for the car.

I admitt i do sometimes rely on my parents for things i've borrowed money of course i have of them, but only when im really desperate.

I'd love to say im going to do all this to my car but i can't only lately have i said anything about mine because i am getting compensation in a few months so i know i will have the money to hand.

Just let us know in a few months when you've passed and running your own costs were see then.

For example i pay £53.70 for insurance a month £144.90 for car a month im looking at about £350 a month on petrol. Thats before i can even spend any money on myself or things that i want. Plus im a girl so it's alot cheaper for insurance etc.

Then you got car tax, mots, services etc.

heres an adjusted list of the mods i have/had planned

things im definitely doing:

exterior

• Zunsport in gloss black
• purple calipers and black drums (black paint on the way)
• 17" gloss black inovite rapids with locking wheel bolts and black anti-theft valve caps
• 70% tint for 3 rear windows
• black and purple new style fiat badges (ordering some red ones of chris@souls to paint)
• punto brakelight cover (done)

interior

• purple interior light (done)
• purple footwell leds (need to fit)
• purple led boot light (need to fit)
• ipod input for factory head unit (done)

and heres a list of the things i would like to do (although unlikely to happen):

exterior

• black antitheft beesting aerial
• black angel eye headlights
• black led or other black rear lights

interior

• spray grey strip on dash purple

improvement of engine /engine sound

• black GSR

that sound a bit more sensible.

im very pleased with what ive got. which is why all the stuff im doing at the moment are just the little things.

some would say you are lucky. i personally (like you) prefer to earn my way through life. if someone wants to give me a free lunch fine but i still like to earn my way through life. and my gp was only £300 more than the used one we were looking at which had no history and appeared to have been treated like crap that is the only reason why i had a new car.

it appears that way yes and i know how fortunate i am which is why im enjoying whilst i can a i think everyone would.

as far as im consciously aware i have never borrowed anything off my parents. i have always saved for my own (of course been given it whaen i was really little).

my insurance is currently £1200 a year fuel about £45 a month ish other costs pretty much non existent.

Then you got car tax, mots, services etc.
