Fair pay, these mechanics in the main dealers are getting ripped of by the franchise owners,they charge sometimes £50-£70 per hour and pay these mechanics £10-£20 hour maxs,so in my world we would better this, they could secure indemnity insurance,and be there own boss , but and there is always a but his bread and butter jobs, would be for the forum and be a legally binding contract ,we would have our cars fixed properly and the mechanics would have a decent wage seems like win win all round to me does this not sound like paradise:idea:

Wouldn't mind being a courier for a bit, but most need to be over 21, have a LGV license and need your own van .

Yeah, dont think it would be, but need something different than Tescos, looking at maybe Royal Mail, fair few Specials work there as well, so must be doing something right. Closest job is 26 miles away .

Please find me a job on £20 an hour, most uk techs are on less than a tenner I can guarantee that, and that includes dealerships and main dealers for Fiat charging up to £80 an hour. Thats why there are very few people coming into the trade, and training companies are moving away from the mechanical type training. Next time you go into a dealer, ask what they pay the technicians, if they tell you (which they wont) you may ask where all the money goes.
