Fair pay, these mechanics in the main dealers are getting ripped of by the franchise owners, they charge sometimes £50-£70 per hour and pay these mechanics £10-£20 hour maxs,so in my world we would better this, they could secure indemnity insurance, and be there own boss , but and there is always a but his bread and butter jobs, would be for the forum and be a legally binding contract ,we would have our cars fixed properly and the mechanics would have a decent wage seems like win win all round to me does this not sound like paradise:idea:

Why am I finding it so hard to find a part time job? I would like to work in a petrol station or that kinda thing

Like I've said...you could have mine ...soon as I find somewhere else lol.

Wouldn't mind being a courier for a bit, but most need to be over 21, have a LGV license and need your own van :(.

Please find me a job on £20 an hour, most uk techs are on less than a tenner I can guarantee that, and that includes dealerships and main dealers for Fiat charging up to £80 an hour. Thats why there are very few people coming into the trade, and training companies are moving away from the mechanical type training. Next time you go into a dealer, ask what they pay the technicians, if they tell you (which they wont) you may ask where all the money goes.
