The phone call you never want to get...

i can dig out the number if anyone is interested, but if your fully comp then your insurance should sort this out anyway.

I got his number from the yellow pages, he works mainly for insurance companies and think this one is based in leyland.

I have a no win no fee soliciters, they said they would take the case on once we got the report back from the investigator and it was proved to be a third party to blame.

The only thing that really bothers me about driving is that i cant go up that slip road cos it scares me now.

H drove up it with me in his coupe and i felt really panicky i didnt say anything to him at the time but it made me feel really sick.

Also i feel nervous on occasions if i am in the fast lane and the crash barrier is really close then i get flash backs of when i hit it, doesnt affect my driving but not nice all the same :(

I will post up everything that is on the report, but i wont name the garage yet, even if people do know then i would appreciate it if nothing was posted. funnily enough i saw him at Brooklands lol.

I should get the report next week.

Dave not sure exactly yet, it was my mum that told me on the phone at work and her trying to explain something about cars that she has been told, she doesnt have a clue :p

I'll speak to my dad tomorrow and shoudl find out a bit more then :)

Just to give you all a quick update on this.

From the inspectors report he lays fault with the garage that fitted the wheel bearing incorrectly.

The garage has been contacted and are investigating liability.

I had an email from my solicitor today and the garages insurers are coming to see the car hopefully end of this week.

Also I have been back and forth from doctors regarding my pains in my head and arm.

I have to have an operation on my arm as it still has glass in it from the accident, so that’s probably why I am getting burning pains in my arm.

I am going to the hospital tomorrow to have my head pains investigated as they seem to be getting progressively worse and after several months you would think the pains would be getting better (n)

It's good to hear that something's being done (y) Hopefully it all works out well for you :)

Hope they sort the aches and pains out too, since I broke my ankle it's been achey but there's nothing that can be done short of re-breaking it (n) Hopefully they don't have to break your head to fix it :D

I for one hope you get the mother of payouts for that, a few K a mean not millions. It ain't about money yeah but it sure sweetens the blow plus you had your car wrecked plus lost wages so make sure they tot it all up.

Good luck at the hospital, hopefully it will be something minor.

Liam

thanks :)

I am still paying out for the car, so if i can at least be in the position where the car is paid off and i get my wages back and other costs i will be satisfied.

They are coming tomorrow morning to see the car, so will let you know what happens

The only thing you have to watch with things like this Sammi is that the process gets dragged out so much and gradually wears you down to the point where you will accept a lower compensation payment just to get things over with.
This is what happened with my dad after his accident, things went on for 2 years and in the end he just wanted everything over with.

Just stick to your guns and get the compensation you deserve.

Sammi, I can see you getting enough out of this to be able to go to your dealer and order whatever car you like, cash. :)

You deserve everything you get.

H makes sure she gets everything ;)

 I'll pretend I don't get that...

Can't believe I didn't see this earlier... but then I don't do the Leisure Lounge much!!! Looks even worse than when I jumped my 20 year old nissan over a wall! (The trees weren't healthy there either)

Here's hoping you get a decent amount back for it!

D

cheers for the replies guys.

I might as well update this...

Some people might know I had an op on tuesday to remove the glass out of my arm. I am now off work for a couple of weeks. I shouldnt even be on here but I got bored watching dvds

My dad is on the phone to my solicitor as we speak. They wrote to me telling me that the "defendants" investigators couldnt examine the car properly so want to get the car lifted so it can be examined thoroughly with the presence of "my" engineer. Which I dont have too much of a problem with.
The only thing I have a problem with is that they want it to go to a fiat dealer to have certain things checked out. IME fiat dealers are clueless when it comes to coupes so I am really not sure about this. I would prefer it to go to either powerfiat or motormech, people that actually deal with these cars and know what they are doing. But then again this whole mess was most likely caused by an "italian car specialist" so dunno really :(

Glass in your arm?! You just won't let go of your coupe will you :p

Hope they've got it all out now. Had glass in my eye before (my own daft fault) and it wasn't nice.

I wouldn't worry too much about it going to a Fiat garage to be checked. They might not be too sensitive about the coupes fiddly bits but if they are just checking brakes, suspension and wheel bearing they should manage to do that. If you're concerned see if you can have someone go with the car.

Good luck with the examination, and your recovery.

the defendants excuse was they couldnt see all the car. there wasnt aything mention when they were there at the time and my engineer got to what he needed fine. The issue was with the bearing and you can get to that easily - why would you want to get to all the car

I just hope for your sake that the people representing the garage haven't some kind of agenda these buggers will try to wriggle off the hook in any way they can :) Question to you did you have any mods on he coupe that were not declared to your insurance company maybe that's why they are sniffing around the car hoping to find a loop hole :)
