For the Multipla radio/CD, the waiting time can be upto 24 hours depending on how many times a wrong code has been attempted.

For most Fiat radios, the radio and ignition has to be left switched on until the " WAIT " message goes. I'm not sure if this applies to the Multipla.

thanks .... I have no idea how many wrong codes have been attempted. When I got the car, the radio said wait. I pressed a few buttons, turned it off a few times, but did not try and enter a code.... perhaps the garage where i got it from did. Guess I will have to wait and see

No, the new code should be stored in the new BC.

Just had the engine rebuilt and sweet as you like now but the radio just says 'CODE'.

Post all the numbers, including the long BPXXXXXXXXXXXX number stamped into the side of the radio.

Sorry, I don't know how the 500 radio comes out, but most radios have 2 or 4 holes in the front panel to insert a tool to release the locking clips. Someone in the 500 section of the forum will know.

Only a Fiat dealer can get the radio code from your registration number. They seem to charge between £10 and £45 for it.
