Sorted the rear suspension out today, modified rear diesel springs from my old 2005 1.5 dci clio.. They are loads better than the fiat springs as they have little movement... looks sweet too... (clio spring to the left, as you can see its a bit thicker, although the picture doesnt do the spring justice)...

Also the wheels are not on properly at the min, awaiting the rings and locking wobbles....

sweet, i bet you have a spare set of wheels for when this goes for a mot :p

hows the wiring going ?

Ash

The wheels should be fine for an MOT as they dont rub as far as i can tell, and its only illegal to have the wheels sticking out if its raining, or driving on a dusty road (legal grey area).... As for the wiring.... not looked at it... planning to have it wired and running saturday, depending if my new sump arrives in time :D

what had to be modified to get the rear ones to fit and are they standard springs?

They had the smallest coil removed both ends, as on a clio they are like 'pig tails'. It hasnt effected the handling at all, if not its improved with the diesel springs, although im sure its due to them being a load stiffer over the fiat ones. I have still yet to dig the front ones out to see if they can be made to fit.

Update... and some pics of the car (SORRY ABOUT THE CAR BEING FILTHY, BUT IM USING IT AS A WORK VAN AT THE MIN LOL)...

So far ive had to buy a load of new parts... New sump, HT leads, Plugs, Fan Switch, Radiator, Thermostat + Gaskets, etc... Its all bloody expensive too!!

Upon working on the car i noticed it has one of the recall fuel tanks on, with leaky seals... so its booked in to be looked at friday afternoon... so that will be another new part.. although hopefully a free one lol.

Also im now looking for an exhaust as the side exit is too boy racer ish for me.. im bored of popping flames and scaring dogs and old ladies, so im on the hunt for a standard system, which i will adapt to fit (once the tanks done)...

Will be getting all this sorted out, then it might be time to sell.... in two minds at the moment, but had a really good offer on a modified 2.0 Turbo engine for my nova (280bhp) and very very tempted, as my nova has all the tricks on it already, LSD, poly bushes, adjustable suspension etc... a turbo could just be the ticket :p

Anyway's here are the pics...

Mine was free last year, but I had to pay to have it fitted... still, £2.50 cheaper and less time consuming than getting one from eBay and doing it myself ;)
