You calling the old boy "clearly incompetent" seems to suggest some sort of 'ageist' attitude - do you hate all elderly drivers?

I didn't mention his age, nor did I suggest any hatred. I called the driver 'clearly incompetent' because he blocked two buses and ran his bike into a stationary cyclist.

You could argue that 'the cyclist' is clearly incompetent given his actions.

'His actions' being moving into the correct position on the road when the van blocking it reversed back to where it should have stopped in the first place. Or was he supposed to know that the van driver would move forward again into the box and into his bike? Yep, clearly incompetent.... But then again he's a cyclist, what do you expect?

So, maybe the van stopped where he did because the lights changed - amber means stop if safe to do so. He perhaps didn't realise this would inconvenience turning buses.

That aside. What is happening here has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with bike boy...
... but he wants to make it his business.
So, instead of sitting back in the bike lane/box, he goes out beyond this and starts pointing his cam at the van, bus, van.
At around 20s, the van draws back - so bike boy does the same.
but, instead of staying over to the left, in the cycle lane (which is clear @ 26s), he puts himself directly in front of the van (27s) - WHY?
And after the van barely touches him, he starts waving his arms about & talking to the van driver - let's face it, the old boy won't have a clue what this guy is saying as he's probably got engelbert humperdink on full blast.
At 1min, he directs the cam to the bike - it looks barely scratched - yet he starts telling everyone how the old boy tried to run him over & buckled his bike "he just ran over my f#ing bike" (strange how the sound of bike being mangled wasn't heard, how the only sound was biker boy banging on the bonnet).
He then begins his crusade to get the van to move back to allow the buses to turn - by putting himself right in front of the van again (he leans his bike against the bonnet).
Again, this is between bus & van - it has F#ck all to do with biker boy.
And later, he's telling everyone "I was just sitting there and he just drove into me" - well, that's a blatant lie.
And at the end, we go from "buckled" to "not rolling as well as it was".

It's really no wonder the police didn't want to get involved.

agreed

you forgot to add that bikerboys mate who he had been trying to catch up (in MY opinion)(blatently went through a red light

We don't know that the driver blocked these buses on purpose or was simply caught out by the lights - after all, we can see that the low sun is clearly in his eyes.
And BTW, the cyclist wasn't stationary. If you watch, he moves his bike back then immediately goes to place it across the car.

'His actions' being to cycle on through the bike box & sit where the pedestrians are crossing, just so as he can video the driver. Hardly the correct position and therefore incompetent, certainly more incompetent than the driver given that the cyclists actions were wholly deliberate.

I think it's a bit of both. 50/50 really.

Biker clearly over reacted;

"You smashed my bike" "you broke my wheel" clear evidence especially when bike was still rolling.

Van driver should have reversed and was impeding the junction. But most peoplw wouls go into the bike bit if the lughts change and can't stop before the first linw. Especially since your not meant to brake too hard to meet the first line incase you cause an accident.

Its a poorly planed junction imo. If the second line can cause and impedance to a bus or hgv the the lights should be moved backwards to rule out the issue. Not just make it a cyvle box.

It's six of one half a dozen of another. Both right/wrong.

Bus driver really didmt help either

And this isnt anti bike. This is a impartial viewing.

All this arguing really is pointless. If only everyone on the road applied common sense to what they're doing there wouldn't be an argument.

I personally detest cyclists on the road, I think they have no place in modern traffic volumes and speeds. However I do treat these brave individuals who are legally entitled to be there with respect and allow them space etc even if it means slowing my journey down. I just remind myself that with one inadvert flick of the steering wheel they're dead..

And if I hear the phrase "well you don't pay road tax" again on one of these cam vids I'm gonna go crazy!

Two with 5minutes.

Although after looking at the second it probably could have been avoided on my behalf

First of at the roundabout the corsa has a lapse of lane control. I leave the car in front plenty of space, partially by been slow of the mark. But luckily it meant that the corsa didn't hit me.

And secondly at a traffic management controlled lane merge, after it's my turn to move and passing standing traffic that is waiting to turn right a land rover decides to pull out into traffic doing 40mph. Although after reviewing the video I can see the indicator which I missed while driving so should have been more alert to this. So partially accept fault for this.

The correct course of action would be to stop the driver and make him watch this informative film
