This is exactly why I'm hesitant to make it permanent.

it's just the charging wire that's frustrating..gets in way of gearstick and my camera dies when not plugged in :/

Ooo that sounds interesting!

I've been using cams for years with no problems leaving them mounted.
Currently using F70 dual cam in the doblo - the body of the front cam is mounted almost horizontally to the underside of the front parcel shelf - making the cam almost hidden.
In my work's vehicle, I have a mobius mounted to the headlining just beside the screen pillar. I also keep my G1W with me - just in case I need to swap vehicles.
I imagine most thieves are looking at what might be on/under the seat rather than looking too closely at what's hung behind the screen.
I have to say, though, I've always preferred suction cups that stick to the dotted sunshade area so as not to be obvious to outsiders.

I wish I had one this week. Over hesitant women driver at a junction causing an accident. Then a near fatal road range incident with a Range Rover driver lol. I've been fly paper for ****s!

I've been thinking for some time about inventing some sort of device that can neutralise the effects of the inbuilt muppet magnet which many of us seem to have.
First off, I need to find where the manufacturer installed it!

you need to find a panel beater who is a bit rough... and get him to convert your vehicle like this one:

no one dares cut them up or agrevate them, even the traffic wardens are nervous about touching them.

On the plus side as you drive about town, police cars will be sure to follow you ensuring other road users do not cut you up as they become model drivers upon seeing the police car.... And who needs a dash cam as the police photograph you from all angles and council cctv will track your every turn
