The Mito is to the GP what the 500 is to the Panda :p

I was on IS and someone asked me about my 500 so we had a little conversation in the Mito thread and I posted some pictures. Lets just say some of the Alfisti weren't happy with a lowly Fiat being discussed on their thread :p So I said "Wtf? The Mito's a Fiat, the 500's a Fiat, what's your problem? Heck at least my car is pure Fiat rather than your Alfa which is a GM bastard child" and then I ducked ;)

Alfisti - that sounds perverted

I have owned several Alfas and never wanted to be called a nerdish name like that...

Does that make us Fi(ll)atia :p

Yeah, Alfisti does sound like a word you'd use to describe people who sit down to discuss the various inner lower control arm bush revisions on 156's and their merits :ROFLMAO:

Ooh Duncan Bannatyne is in that!

I'm not sure about that Dave, could just be someone guessing. Would seem strange for them just to change the PCD for the Mito, as always could be wrong :)

Thorough aerodynamic research has minimised turbulence with the roof open, allowing the sound of the road and engine to be enjoyed to the full. The new car therefore delivers a more complete sport driving experience and enhanced enjoyment. In an Abarth 500C, you can experience all the thrills of a real sports car. With the roof up, performance is on a par with a hard top. When the roof down, the range of sensations and emotions is dramatically extended, and includes all the pleasures of feeling the wind in your hair and the sound of the twin tail pipes
This is what i am trying to get you guys to understand, the Abarth sounds awesome as it is, i always drive with the windows fully down, in most weathers, even at minus 13 degrees, because i love the sound of the gearbox whine, the turbo whistle, the huge induction noise, the exhaust roar and the loud double popping backfires as you change gear! Gives the car even more character and without a roof, these sounds would be enhanced! And the fact that when you drive the A500 if fills you with confidence, there's no heads left unturned, it can fool you into thinking you driving a Ferrari! i can imagine the same would apply with the A500C, you would convince yourself you're driving a big posh convertible. If you test drove one and didn't smile or laugh, i would be very worried indeed :)

I test drove one and not a single person turned and looked....

I don't get is as much now, but when it does happen, its great! I was behind a lady yesterday in a 500 Pop with blue viper stripes and Ferrari badge on the rear (lol), her daughter in the passenger seat kept on turning around looking at the car and ended up pointing at it sticking her thumb up :)

I also had someone mouth something at me the other day in traffic, I thought he was calling me and the car!! Turns out (after I lowered my window and asked what was his problem ) he just wanted to know how much it was and how much he liked it!!

Si

i love my a500 but tbh it doesnt get that many stares - the odd curious glance would be more accurate. to say its a head-turner is a little ott :)

I never had looks or reactions with my standard 500 the way I've had with the Abarth. Random people stopping asking questions, people getting their mobiles out to take pics, people shouting "nice car", cars flashing in appreciation, cars going up your backside when they realise what it is....the list goes on! It's mental and one of the reasons why I love it so much :)

Yes i second that. And those of you who don't get any looks, remember i live in a poor area of Wales, the locals aren't used to seeing alternative cars, they are mostly beat up old Landys, and also a lot of people come here on holiday because it's cheap (caravans etc) so maybe their not used to seeing "nice" cars either! Or maybe it's just the backfires that make them look! Last night i made her backfire, it was possibly the loudest one i've had in the 12700 miles i've driven, as i took my eyes away from the shocked crowd in my rear view mirror, i noticed a copper on my right....Oops! I actually stopped later on in the night for a chat, she said she liked my car and wanted to buy one!

Same here ! People often check the car out, especially when I stop
at a fuel station or if I'm caught in slow moving traffic. I've received
quite a few compliments too, which is nice, especially in todays society !
