the 1.4

The missus has got a new car, so the 1.4 is SORNed at the moment. It runs ok but I'm reluctant to sell it in the condition its in. Bumps, scrapes, botched mods etc.

Is the 1.4 a bit past it now to be worth breaking? I imagine there's no many around these days. I'm told you can get about £150 from a scrappy who'll come and take it off you. Is that my best bet?

It's probably not worth breaking for engine parts but if there are any decent body parts on it then they could be sold for spares. If not then scrapping probably is the best bet. The 1.4 engines aren't the best and it's better to convert a broken 1.4 engine to a 1.2 iirc.
